Ebay and Amazon

Hello Everyone,

Quick question. If I list something that I found on Amazon for good price and list it on Ebay, and Amazon will ship it to the address that I choose. Will I get in any kind of trouble?

Thank you,

Re: Ebay and Amazon

Isn't that defined as ''dropshipping'' ?
I believe Amazon doesn't like that.
Why don't you just buy it from Amazon, let them ship it to you and then sell it?

Re: Ebay and Amazon

The problem with dropshipping especially on platforms like ebay and Amazon is:

1. The platforms themselves dont like dropshippers

2. The people you buy goods from on these platforms are in control and will most likely identify themselves with the product to your customer thus cutting you out in future sales (because you are the middleman).

3. Your customer will feel scammed when they discover you brought the item for a cheaper price from a different platform and your feedback will be negative.

4. If the item you brought has an issue or more importantly the seller becomes an issue, you immediately get the flank for the issues and not the seller you brought off i.e late shipping or broken item.

You could do what helpmelol has said which would negate most problems but then you are extending shipping times as you have to wait for the product to reach you before you can send it out again for it to reach the customer.

At this point, wouldn't it just be more beneficial to buy said stock and sell it directly to your customers?

You would be in full control of your product, quality control and to some degree, the shipping of your product.

Yes, I absolutely agree with both of you it would be better if I were to purchase a stock and sold it directly. Unfortunately profit margin is not that great after Ebay and Paypal fee and if I have to pay for shipping myself it would not be profitable at all. Since Amazon offers free shipping it would've been fairly profitable on some products.

Why would platform such as an Ebay and Amazon would care where the product is shipped and from where? They make money regardless, there is no scam. It's very simple arbitrage. I am still responsible for the quality of the product if the customer is not happy I will be the one responsible for the refund.
