EBay Knightmare Catergory restrictions

Hi all!

So I decided to go legit on EBay with a none stealth account..

I patiently waited 90 days from my first sale to list more items being restricted to 20 in the computer category, which is what I sell computer/laptop parts etc.

90 days came along I called them to get the category limits removed.

Now there saying they can't do that until I have been with EBay 90 days & received 25 good feedback?!!

I said to the woman that will take forever to get 25 positive feedback because buyers rarely leave feedback.

She couldn't care less about my situation & said her hands are tied until I get 25 positive feedback.

Has anyone else come across this problem?

On previous calls I was told by EBay after 90 days restrictions would be lifted knowone mentioned 25 positive feedback as well.

Is there anyway around this knightmare?

Thanks!

You waited 90 days to sell any item, 30 days maybe but 90 days? People do leave feedback, albeit not as often as we'd like but in my experience 33% of sales do end up with feedback. Since it doesn't sound like you're in any rush to do anything, I'd concentrate on making a few new accounts and listing some items that have a high probability of getting positive feedback.

Good way around is open up more accounts and build them up - rotate sales in the category.

I never have issues with a category.

Multiple accounts takes care of that issue.

Wouldn't call it a nightmare! My account is 65 days old since the first sale and I have got 18 positive feedback, I've been told that after 90 days and 25 feedback limits will be removed, and once I reach 25 feedback I will get my first selling limit increase regardless of the age of the account, so if this is true I've got 7 more to go for an increase and 25 days for catagory limits removed as long as my DSR is good enough,

Think eBay have noticed the high amount of accounts being opened and 1 sale being completed and then account being left for 3 months and then stuff being listed after the 3 months when catagory limit is removed. But eBay don't like it as a lot of people are doing this and then after the 3 months hammering the accounts with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ until account is took down and they do the same again.

So eBay want to see some kind of history from the seller before limits are removed and by the looks of it it's set at 90 days and 25 positives.

Rather than selling your item and waiting 3 months to sell again i just created the accounts, waited 1 week before selling on them and then once I sold my first item I sold to my limits each month, worked fine for me I've got 10 accounts going well from 20-65 days old

Hey guys,

Thanks for your responses, I actually managed to get the category limits removed, I just kept calling Ebay & bugging them eventually one of the representatives was like OK I will increase your category selling limit to a 100 items.

Good enough for now!

Congratz but still...you are keeping your hopes up on one account - operate carefully.

Calling and bugging...wow, you're playing with fire but ok :thumb:
