What would you do if a buyer did this?

I have 2 items listed that are the same model but different colors. So I notice the same buyer bids on both items. I email him and ask him does he really want both because it has happened before where the buyer actually wanted both. So he said he was trying to CYA & only had intension to pay for 1. I nicely told him I was cancelling both bids and he could re bid if he wanted to but tying up my listing for 7 days and then not intending to make payment should he win both was absolutely not cool. I forgot to tell you that he has 14 purchases since 2010. I thought he was a newbie.

My question is should I block him? Sounds like a clear warning to stay away from him. But you know how Aspkin paranoia is. Fear fuels the imagination for all types of crazy thinking.

After selling on eb for a few years I thought I have seen a lot of stupid but this is just too selfish & stupid.

Well, since they have changed how you can view feedback. This is where I use to do some detective work. If it is a buyer with quite a bit of history on eBay I wouldn't worry about it. If they have less than like 50 feedback it might be worth sending a message. If these are items that get lots of bids regardless. Then I probably would just cancel their bids and block them.

For me when dealing with auctions. Nothing is worse especially on like 7 day auction than a NPB or some idiot that bid at the last second sending you a message. Sorry I didn't realize what I was bidding on or make some crap up about their kids bidding on it. Can I get those 5 to 7 days back? Jerk.

@joesshooze, when in doubt, block him out - if he seems sketch, why bother...be patient and wait for other bidders

Yes Steve 7000 that's what troubled me more than anything was the attitude. Like who was he hurting? Certainly not himself.
My problem is greed, but not this time. I blocked him. It's about all we still can control on eb. LOL

A very good candidate for the block list.

Sounds like trouble waiting to happen

Plenty more buyers in the sea

I am going to start calling blocking the "**** list".

Why on earth do you call trouble to yourself?

Avoid telling buyers they are PITA even if it is true.

KEEP control of the sales at all times.

There were other options than asking a fruitloop what he was doing.

Inadvertingly, you empowered the buyer to hurt you. That is not wise.
