Reinstated, what to sell?

I just got reinstated , from what the forum told me before, it was for selling my first item in the 200-300$ section without any seller feedback.

I was wondering now that I am able to sell again, with a higher limit, what should I sell? I have no idea where I could get items to sell. My idea was some chargers for iPhone or something until I get 10+ or so feedback then start to sell a bit higher priced items.

Bad idea ? Any tips appreciated!

Yard sale junk.

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

low items or digital photos work great

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

Digital photos on a brand new account.

Dont think so.

Not worth losing your account for.

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

Yeah yard sale stuff could work but I don't think I've ever seen a yard sale around my neighborhood.

Maybe because I am concetrationg on making a profit but I have an old phone case I don't use? It's those otterboxes not sure if "named" stuff could be bad...

Sandy D 12-04-2013 12:26 AM

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

Do not sell anything name brand on a new account esp otterbox or other phone items.

Thrift stores will work.

Household used items will work.

Look around everyone has something you dont use anymore.

Books work pretty well

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

Go to Goodwill

Buy a bunch of junk that you think will get at least a few bids and wont be too expensive to ship. BOOKS ARE PERFECT. Or, DVDs, video games, clothes, toys, etc.

Sell it on eBay

Get feedback

I would avoid DVD. Too many phakes about

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

I look for oddball stuff. Like last week my garage door opener died. So I sold each remote individually on eBay. Lol. I always look for low risk oddball junk like that.

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

Start off as mentioned thrift stores are great and some times you find a nice treasure for nothing.

You want to build credit, just think of the whole ebay / Paypal system as a credit card

Now if ur name address and phone match than u have a nice foundation and start at a higher credit but with stealth you normally won't have that so you need to start from 0 and I wouldnt take losses but don't worry to much about high profits in the building phase and get all low risk items

Thrift stores have everything you can grab 20 books for $2 and just list them at a .99 cent auction

Just describe any used products in detail take ur own pictures no stock so the buyer can see the actual condition

The first 3 months u need to show that u are selling , uploading tracking is always a plus and delivering fast. If u can do priority mail it is the best, and funds will be released 3-4 days after the sale if u ship next day

But the important thing is making a sale delivering the order fast and positive feedback

After u build your credit than you will see increased limits holds will lift and you can sell more profitable items.

The more patient u r in the beginning the better the account will be meaning higher limits and more money in the future

If u start out with high priced name branded new items , chances are after 90 days you will be restricted

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

Thanks for all the ideas guys.

Some people mentioned video games, I havent played my Xbox in years and have a stack of video games, all functioning and in their case with obviously a few scratches. Would this work? My worry about this is the scammers, how do I prove the games work? I know they do for a fact but what if he tries to snake me and say they don't work? I would hate to have disputes, etc. I obviously would put the game as used, couple scratches, but functional.

Also going to try to get some books aswell

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

Get baseball/football/hockey/celebrity cards for less than 10 cents in bulk. List them at 99 cents auctions. They love them, free shipping. Gets ebay bots to see you differently for a while. It helps to be able to list gray items earlier than 2/3 months after getting flagged I find.

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

Low end cards like Hercules stated. Office stuff, household items ...even hand-crafted items work.

Dont go for anything digital whether photos or eBooks

Hooki 12-04-2013 01:16 PM

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

Yeah was thinking anything low end cards, where exactly whould I get em though? I've been researching and can't find em for 10c >.>

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

As I stated above thrift stores you can get books, used items for cheap to start with.

No DVDs or video games on a new account.

Household used items, books etc.

I buy box lots at local auctions piled full of these types of things for 2.00-10.00 a box depending on what is in them. Great feedback builders and account starters.

I don't know about sports cards, but there are plenty of places that sell Magic (mtg) cards. You could just pick up a bunch of 10 cent commons or something.

Also, for whatever it's worth, I've had a lot of success selling items under the "business and industrial" category. Those items don't appear to count towards your monthly limit. The last 5 stealth accounts I've made (in the last 2 months) have successfully sold fairly expensive ($ 400-800) items without any prior feedback and they haven't received any of those annoying MC999s (unlike a few other accounts I've made which started out selling electronics and did get hit by the new MC999). I don't know whether there's something to that or not, but I figured I'd share.

Lots of stuff fits under that category, but I was specifically selling laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipettes, ect.).

Hunger games would not be considered old.

No need to waste time buying online.

Go to the thrift store or look up yard sales on craigslist.

Grab some used items and start listing them.

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

I found a couple books and football cards. I put them all for sale, they barely get any views, 1 or 2.

Is this whats supposed to happen? I thought I'd get like a 99c bid almost immediately.

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

This whole selling on eb thing with me started by buying clearance clothing items I bought for myself. Later I changed my mind and sold them on eb for nice profit. I only bought designer stuff like Nike, Jordan, Jack Nicklaus, etc., etc. I just bought some paring knifes in the grocery store that are on eb for $20-30 and I got them 2 for $2.39 in a clearance basket. One has to be creative and look at everything as an opportunity to sell.

Joe is correct. This time of year bargains can be had.

But for me I only go with used usable items to start with.

Also just found out that people do drop shipping from Amazon through eBay.

Is this trouble? How does one avoid the amazon box

I just bought a litter box on eb from a AH that was drop shipping. 3 days after I immediately pay he says that he lost his supplier. OK so he refunds my money and I am furious because I needed it badly. He has over 150+ fb's. I want to leave devastating fb because I am angry to have my funds missing for a week. I know how fb can effect an acct. so I am just waiting a few days till I calm down. LOL

I would not take the chance to be out of my control. But everybody and situation is different.

Sandy is absolutely right. In my opinion selling tools and household item (really kitchen, lawn, garden) items are the best way to start accounts. They are unique enough eBay does not think oh a DVD or a Video Game we got a ton of these sellers we don't care about you. I have really found if you sell items that do not compete with Amazon aka more unique items it is much easier to get going on eBay. If you try to list video games, dvds, cds, etc. Iphone cords, almost anything electronic it is going to be a problem with eBay. Especially on newer accounts. If you sell antiques or more unique items as Sandy D has always suggested and taken your own pictures not stock photos. You are in much much better shape.

You are not at this point to consider dropshipping - too much jumping ahead

Agreed, it is not a smart idea in general. Especially after begin reinstated would be a very poor decision. In this kind of situation regardless of how eBay views it you have no control over your product, shipping etc. I think most of the long time experienced members on here would say that is a poor decision.

Re: Reinstated, what to sell?

Your are getting way ahead of yourself.

Build an account selling what we discussed first and then go looking.

If you post drop ship on a new account after we all spent time helping you it will be all for nothing as it might possible go down because you will be using stock photos etc.

One step at a time.

Yeah I'm just gathering my thoughts. I have a couple of Football cards at the moment up. They don't get much attention :(

I may go to Goodwill and look for some books. I'll try to pay 1$ max per book.

Hi little update, need some more tips.

My football cards didnt sell after 2 days, barely any views.

Also I got these 20$ giftcards, basically a redeemable code for xbox for cheap over the weekend sales. Could I sell those? I WOULDN'T send the code to the user because of how delicate eBay is with 'codes' and whatnot, easy fraud. I would send it to them via envelope and mail preferably.

Any input but I probably will sell these cards as I don't need them, don't own an xbox.

DO NOT LIST GIFT CARDS....on a new account.

Nothing new at all.

Used only.

List something usable.

Goodwill has lots of stuff.

Thanks, and yeah relisted my cards. I'm just going to wait until they sell :p THey barely get views :(

After how long should I sell these cards? I picked up a lot of them and can get more but I won't give out the code to them in eBay message because I heard eBay isn't so keen of giving out codes, etc as no way of tracking them.

Is my best bet to ship out the cards? (in the future)

Why not make it easy on yourself?

Go to goodwill and buy some junk and sell it.

Card collectors is a past fad and not many are into collecting older cards anymore unless they are rare.

I've been buying and selling recipes for feed back. I'm going to start selling some old junk from my room. I'm in the same situation lol.
