eBay Buyer Dispute

I sold a 16GB USB memory stick to a seller which was received but seller opened a dispute against me due to the USB stick didn't work and wasn't recognized on Mac or Windows computer, I responded to the case but no reply from the seller so I escalated the case to Customer Support and 2 minutes later, I received this message,

Quote:

Customer Support has refunded the buyer and the case is closed

Customer Support comments:

'eBay has decided to refund the buyer. You aren't required to reimburse the buyer or eBay, and this case won't be counted in your seller performance evaluation.'

Final decision:
You weren't found at fault.
There's no appeal button for me to appeal against but I'll leave it as that, but how do I get eBay to request the seller to return back the item?

You'd be best to just walk away from it.

Now the refund has been sent, it would be difficult to force the buyer to return it.

The buyer left a negative feedback before he opened a dispute, now the dispute is closed, can I request for the feedback to be removed?

Re: eBay Buyer Dispute

Only if the buyer agrees to revise the feedback.

If he has left feedback in breech of ebay's policies then report it and it should get removed.

You were not found to be at fault, so what would there be to appeal? When you say seller I am going to assume you mean buyer. eBay has decided that you are also not required to refund the buyer, so there is no need for the buyer to return the item

Only issue I see is the neg left by the buyer, which only the buyer can remove (though a feedback revision request)

Re: eBay Buyer Dispute

I have noticed this with eBay. Had this for items that buyers said weren't received when the tracking showed delivered to a confirmed address. As part of their buyer protection program I do think they side with the buyers and just refund them even if they don't ding you for the money. But from what I understand they are keeping track of buyers who try to do this to often and they are kicked off eBay.

I would report the eBayer and explain what happened. Ask for the feedback to be removed.

Before submitting a revision, I would try communicating with the buyer, build some quick rapport and sneak the topic of a revision.

If you just submit a revision and they ignore it, remember you can only do 5 per 1000 feedbacks in a 12month span.
