item sold buyer cancels then refuses cancelation request
 

I sold an item the other day. Buyer started asking questions. I told him what i could do but that it wont ship till monday as i ran out of stock and was just about to cancel my listing.
I said i can keep the transaction and ship on monday when it comes in or we can cancel now and ill email you when i get it in.

He said cancel now!. I said no problem filed a cancelation request in ebay. he denies it saying in the claim i will close case when seller has fully refunded me.
But now ebay emails saying buyer has refused to cancel order you will be charged final value fees. Not only that but im near my limit this month and if this guy is not buying its 1 more item i can sell that would open up.

On ebay forums they said oh no big deal just call ebay tell them what the guy said and he didnt know what he was doing they will fix it.
But id rather not call ebay in case they ask questions i cant answer. And i prefer not having someone go snooping in my account either.

What say you guys?

Get the buyer's contact info and phone him.

Use your charm but dont make him feel too stupid.

Besides his filing of a claim since he has paid you, he can leave negative feedback - if it happens next time...I would have made sure to refund the buyer BEFORE sending out the cancellation request and always asking politely to cancel.

I did he wanted to cancel. He is the one that messed up. He is not going to leave neg feedback and what claim can he file he was refunded. I never did that before i thought when i canceled it ebay would refund. But he got a refund he is happy i just need to get my ebay fees back. And the ability to sell more since i have people asking to buy and im at my limit.

Ok - sorry I wasnt clear that the refund has been done. Sadly, unless you call up eB and TRY to get the fees back...you are right now unable to get FVF credited since, yes, the buyer declined - even when claim is closed, you cant get FVF back since you already refunded.

What do they do???? Are you joking? They will waste your time with nonsense. Forget the FVF unless your time and sanity means nothing to you.
