We already know this about eBay but ...
One of my Facebook friends, who is a 10+ year eB seller (with over 4,800 100% positive feedback and more than 1,350 items currently for sale), posted about how dead her sales have been recently. She was so concerned about this lack of sales that she called eB to see if there was something wrong with her store. eB told her that everything appeared to be okay with her store.
There were many replies to her post. One reply stood out to me and read ...
"On ecommercebytes and powersellersunite, they are saying that eBay is manipulating the searches so only certain types of sellers listings are showing up in search. Some said they were wondering why their sales were only coming from maybe 2 states or regions. One guy said his sales were hot for the first two weeks of the month and then they bombed, he figured it out from studying his spreadsheet. They say there are hidden seller limits and if you hit it, they lower your listings in the search or even hide them. I even read they are purging small sellers, giving them the boot, and even large volume sellers. I have just been reading to get up to date. Have sold for years and then took a break after taking care of my Dad till he passed, it's a sad situation to come back to. Always loved eBay..."
I suppose we'll see more and more new people here as eB suspends/shuts down good sellers for no apparent rhyme or reason. |
