Default DSRs killed over christmas

On more than one of my accounts my DSRs have took a huge hit over christmas. I can only put this down to the local postal system delivering items slower.

On the 2 accounts i am now miles outside TRS. Luckily i have 3 months grace period with both.

The problem is now this. My BINs have been killed of in top rank match so i am not sure how i am supposed to sell the numbers needed to sneak back into TRS.

The same thing happened on one of my accounts last christmas. I am starting to think that i should stop selling over christmas from now on which is a shame because its the busiest time.

Has anyone else had the same problem by any chance?

Quite a few sellers closed up shop for the holidays to AVOID the potential failure of shipping/DSR/feedback

Always an issue at this time of the year.

With Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years all happening during the week as well this year I have noticed there have been large delays in the post.

Best way to counter it is to send messages to buyers explaining it.

Your seller rating will be ungraded if you qualify for it on the 20th of the month (although its the 18th Jan in the UK this month)

Active listing best match ranks are constantly being changed.

I have to admit its not been too bad for me during the holiday period, last year I got hit but this year the Postal service has been pretty good any any items not delivered have been very far and few and in all cases they have been good understandable buyers so just refunded or sent another item via a priority service.

But on the counter side sales have been under performing to expectation considering it should have been the busiest time of year, it was nothing like last year for me.

Looks like if you take a hit one month in DSRs, that means until the next evaluation eBay will lower your best match on all your listings until they see an improvement during the next evaluation:

"What happens if you don't meet the standards?

If you don't meet the minimum performance standards, your search placement will be lowered and there may be limits to your selling activity until your ratings improve. You may also be restricted from selling items on eBay if your performance falls significantly below the minimum requirements. If you have a Premium or Anchor eBay Store and have been below standard for 60 days, your Store may be downgraded to the Basic level."

i was able to get the low DSRs removed so that now my account isnt at risk of losing TRS for next month, im back to below .50% and TRS.

How long does it take for my best match to be restored? My listings are still on the last page.

How did you have the low DSRs removed?

I have not listed my items at 0.99p and i still cannot sell any. This account is burried as the DSRs are now destroyed. I'd have to sell silly numbers to get it back in check.

Some customers on ebay need slapping!

Yep I agree with that I do all priority free shipping . I still make a great profit and it's just worth it for five dollars I don't need to worry about low DSR rating. My items that make a $30 profit I can fit into a $5.35 flat rate priority shipping and the items that make $150 profit I could fit into a flat rate priority box for $10 and $2 for signature confirmation so $12 is worth a perfect DSR rating I am making $150 profit. I started doing all free shipping months ago, once my account started making power seller status and top rated I really was concentrating on DSRs every day and just decided it's worth it , besides losing your account when you have a top-rated selling account just discounts alone between shipping and eBay fees I end up saving $350 or more every month on each account. So giving free shipping is the solution I think, and the holidays you need to really stop selling halfway through the month December 15 make it cut off day. Just on one account I made $20,000 plus from December 1 to the 15th . So all them last minute shoppers , you're better off letting them shop somewhere else not worth it

Yes always have this issue,
its inevitable had one person open a case on Christmas DAY!!! and a negative fb on Christmas Eve.
ive learnt a lot about DSRS lately,
best thing to do is:

sell small low value items, helping protect your feedback percentage AND your DSR's
we sell things that are pre packed, easy and fast to send, and never get any returns on.

without these our account would be dead.

if you ever see a case has been escalated close it immediately,
just 5 of 6 of these can get your account closed.
close before ebay do and you won't get a bad mark.

but the biggest thing ive learnt is to ALWAYS have the items in stock, send anything over £10 recorded as then they can't argue.
leave auto fb (it encourages people to leave it for you without having to message each and every buyer)
sell lots of low value easy to send items to protect your DSR's
always close escalated cases.
identify your problem buyers and make sure when they message you etc you are there to answer their moany arse questions as it is always in between messages when they leave bad fb.
if you hit them back straight away they don't start wondering over to the leave bad fb section...

personally when i have a problem buyer i give them above and beyond i just think ok so i lose £10 on this, but i keep my power seller status and save £250+ in savings for being a power-seller.
you have to balance that.

i don't claim to be an expert on this, just sharing experiences to try and help others.
we have been doing this for 5 years and just started getting it right our self's.
Dazzawoo.
