Re: Is Stealth eBay in the US Dead?

The 1099k thing is just the US government trying to get more people to pay their taxes. Simply way around that is to get an EIN. I dont see anything wrong with that. People still have to declare their income and taxes if not face the wrath of the IRS in the US.

I still sell my stuff. I dont thing ebay will get much harder in the future unless they start new ways to track people or computers.

Problem is you get one EIN in your name. If that gets burned somehow you have to file a LLC or go through all the hurdles of starting a corporation. I hate ignorant responses like yours.

Even someone like myself who does run an EIN account. My ability to sell on my backup accounts my stealths has been severely restricted. I imagine anyone who sells low priced items has essentially been cutoff from the stealth world. If you are selling $5-10 items and can only sell close to 200 items before your account is blocked by PayPal. That is a serious roadblock. If you are selling higher priced higher margin items you can get around it I agree.

Not to mention all the MC999 and every other thing that is required to get an account off the ground that was not necessary in years past.

The first EIN you are correct. There have been posts about this before linking to the IRS.gov website. As an individual it stated you are allowed 1 EIN. If you want to get more you have to go the corporation route.

If it was that easy all stealth people would just get 10-20 EIN's and say F it.

My main advice would be before getting a EIN especially trying to get a second one talk to an accountant. Because giving bad advice like you are doing is discrediting this site.

I hate to rub it in. But I can not allow bad advice to be thrown out there uncontested. Especially when it deals with Taxes etc. Always talk to a Tax Professional or do your absolute due diligence to make sure you have a solid idea of what you are getting into.
