what would you do

I sold an bag mid december. I have had a message today saying the lining has come undone, what am I going to do about it.

It is a school bag so will be used daily. 52 days have passed so I'm not obligated by Ebay to refund, however, they have not left feedback so could still neg me within the next 8 days.

What would you do? String it out passed the 60 days or refund?

Offer a partial refund would be my method.

Iv never been a fan or partials as i believe it encourages buyers to try it on with other sellers.

Do they usually keep buyers sweet? How much do you offer?

Re: what would you do

Depends on the damage and the cost of the item. I tent to offer them between 20% and 50% of my profit on the item so I am not out of pocket.

Re: what would you do

I would offer 25% of the actual price of the item but honestly....it's up to you how much you offer and still come out not loosing cash.

Re: what would you do

Do you offer a warranty or guaranty with these bags? If yes, then honor it - unless the item was abused. If no and it is outside the return period, tell them to take a hike - after the feedback window closes of course.

I would delay for a week, say your abroad and deal with after 60 days. To many scammers and people always after freebies

Re: what would you do

I've gone for the drag it out option.

I don't like doing it, but most online retailers only offer 28 day refunds. Ebay force sellers to bend over backwads, 45 days for a case, 60 for feedback.

Re: what would you do

say you will sort out a partial refund when you return in a week from a family emergency

Re: what would you do

Partial refund would be the best method in this case. For me, if the item is small value, i would refund in full becuase i dont wanna waste my time email back and forth with this kind of idiot.

Save your time for making more money.

Re: what would you do

I think the 60-day limit has passed by now?

If not just say that the refund is processing then block the buyer.
