issue with opening a new Ebay account.
 

trying to bring on a new account online tonight. i am using a visa gift card from a bank with the initials W F. I used a similar card about a month ago to sign up account. Any suggestions. Ebay says the issuing bank would not approve.

i have confirmed addresses match. Card is registered in the same name as the ebay name. card is active. quadruple checked numbers. anything I am missing.

I have not found a Card that I can register on Bay for years. I use to use Simon Mall Giftcards but those stopped working on Bay years ago. The VISA/MASTERCARD still works for PP. But I always just made the PP first then linked it to eBay. Even more so I always made buyer accounts to start then down the line switched em over.

If W F is Wells Fargo. They are about the most conservative bank in the world. I am surprised they even accept mismatched names for deposits. I have accounts there so I can complain. If I want to withdrawal $300 they ask me for ID and everything else even after swiping card and entering PIN. It is like why does that even matter if you want this?

they do accept mismatch so far ....going on a bit more than a year.

I found a work around for my problem. to set up the acct, i selected ebay as the pay source. Then added the card to paypal. then added the card to ebay via my profile and set the card up as pay source.

an extra step, but it worked.

Are you using a Card to open the Ebay account or Paypal account?
