Is there a way to block someone from sending harassing messages?

Please don't tell me to report the person because that's not going to happen. They are sending me annoying messages on a few of my stealth accounts.

I have stopped reading them and just want to know if I can block them? I am also changing new eb stealth accounts to a different geographic location because they mention that before I stop reading.

How to block someone on ebay from messaging you?

You can put the buyer on blocked list - he/she can't bid or write to you

Block them.
It sometimes takes a couple hours or even a day but usually an hour or less.

IF they have bought an item, the messages will not be blocked for 30 days from date of transaction.

IF they are bidding on items, cancel bids first, then block them.

You have a competitor trying to get to you.

Do not let them.

Block and avoid them.

Smart move to change area and location.

Make sure you present your NEW self in a new way.

New fonts, colors etc.

Everything looking new.

Thank you all I did not know that I only thought that would stop somebody from bidding or buying. Nice to know. What does the sender see when they try to send a message?

You can choose an option to stop buyers communicating with you unless they have actually purchased something. They get a message which says something like:-

"Due to their volume of business this seller is unable to answer questions at this time".

I have questions from non buyers blocked because I got fed up with people asking me to value and identify items which they had no intention of selling. They were just after freebie advice.

I think the best thing to do is not to respond to them!, they will get board and leave you alone.

If you go to buyer requirements --> blocked buyers list , you can add the user and that will prevent them from bidding, buying and contacting you.

Okay folks NEWSFLASH. On Friday I put this person on my blocked buyer list. That does not stop somebody from sending a message through eb because I got one from the SOB today. And NO I don't answer or read them any more so I don't know what he thinks he is getting?

Joesshooze, There is a little box in your preferences that allow you to not receive messages from them any longer.

Ill look for the link, but it does require some digging to find.

Thank you BigCJ, I think you are correct. I can vaguely remember something like that one day when I was surfing there. I will look too.

Someone who has been there understands how creepy that is, especially on a fairly new in eb years stealth acct. That's why I just delete them.

The 1st sentence of my request for help said, "Please don't tell me to report the person because that's not going to happen." I really wish people would not give bad advice on the forum. I know better than to take your awful advice for a stealth account. The problem is others don't and that is sad you offer me that after what I said. I see why you don't have much thanks.

Re: Is there a way to block someone from sending harassing messages?

makes no dif if its a stealth account, you can still report them, it does help other sellers out

Re: Is there a way to block someone from sending harassing messages?

To prevent non buyers from contacting you:-

account>site preferences>manage communications with buyers>allow buyer to contact you>edit

They cannot contact you unless they have bought something. And of course you can block them from buying.

They get a message which says something like:-

"Due to their volume of business this seller is unable to answer questions at this time".

The whole premise of stealth is NOT TO DRAW ATTENTION. Somebody harassing me is a lot better than having eb look into my stealth acct. There is always the delete key.

There is a situation developing here.

You are chundering out replies that are so off the mark they are pointless.

Threads exist to discuss topics.

Here the OP specially wanted assistance to deal with an issue that

EXCLUDED going near ebay.

All users except for you were able to relate to this.

Start reading better.

That means you might think better when you reply. Today's posts have been horrendous.

There is no place on the forum for repeated wrong info.

Try better tomorrow.
