business seller and limits
 

Ok I admit I'm not that smart… clicked "request higher limit" just want to know what it will come out. Followed the instruction and got myself business seller, however limits still the same as before… now what?

When you call, what they will ask??? I got passed couple of times to call and confirm the identity, ok those are very lucky. But when it comes to raise the limits, what they usually ask for?

Anyone has any experience before? :boink:

Best to avoid calling them

Becoming a business seller does not automatically give you limit increases.

If you need to sell more, create more stealth accounts. Avoid drawing any unwanted attention to your account.

So when you came up with this awesome plan....did you think, "I should ask the forum before I do this" and see what they think?

This is the fifth or sixth time this week someone has posted they turned their account into a business account thinking it would give them great increases.

Who is passing this mis information around and why are so many thinking this is the case?

Turning your ebay account into a business has its perks and a lot of them, but you WILL NOT, I repeat will not be given any limit increases just because it has a business name on it.

This myth needs to be laid to rest and I hope no one waste their time and loses an account over thinking this will work.

Switching your account to business does not necessarily mean it's a bad thing. Don't get paranoid about the call, they might feel something is wrong when talking on the phone and dig more into your account. I had a chat with an eBay rep regarding business accounts and it's not an issue in general. You also get the bonus of the additional tools, TRS status, and better visibility of your listings.

However, it really depends what your case is, if you are selling VERO items for example, as James said, this is unnecessary attention to your account, as it will be reviewed manually.

In the end of the day, it's up to you whether to call or not, sometimes when you have nothing to lose, it's well worth the try and experience.

Not all countries require the EB to be a business account to get TSR like in the UK

A few years ago becoming a business seller did give an increase in selling limits (or it did fo me anyway)

Thats not the case now, though.

No one said it was a bad thing. In this case and many others recently they believed it would give them auto increases and it does not.

There are perks with a business account but this is not one of them.

Sandy_D, I completely agree with you.

For those asking whether it will increase limits or not, just think about it.

It doesn't make sense to increase your limits just by becoming a business (in this case clicking a button, as no business info is required). You don't go to a bank and say, hey I got a business, so give me the loan.

You need some backup, a business plan, some sort of quality control guarantee of your products etc. Ebay doesn't want to shut down hundreds of accounts everyday as that means more work for them, and more work means more costs. More costs (in this case) means less profit, and less profit means angry shareholders. You can do the rest...
