The defect rate will kill all sellers. Negs/neautrals/opened casesfor item not received and not as described all count as a defect. You can only have 5 a year or in 3 months if you sell over 400 transactions.

If the 'defect' rate can lead to suspension, i believe this is the final purge of small business sellers.

Also you can no longer ask a cusomter to open a 'item not received' case as it will count against you even if you refund straight away.

That means inr claims will no doubt rocket.

Stealth just became even more important on EBay.

Having re-read the policy, it seems i read wrong initially.

It takes 5 buyers leaving a defect against you for it then to be calculated as a percentage. For a top rated seller it can not exceed 2%.

Also, only one defect per customer counts. So if someobe opens a case, then negs and low dsr's you. It only counts as one defect, not 3.

I'd say the margins are tight if evaluated over 12 months, but achievable. I personally will add some cheap 99p lines to boost my transaction count, meaning il be evaluated over 3 months not 12. That will make it much easier to maintain trs.

What a load of ****! if feedback is revised it still counts as a defect cos reasurch shows buyer still had a bad buying experience! I've had buyers leave neg feedback without even contacting me for reasons like item was damaged in the post then I've contacted them myself and sorted problem out and either sent another one out or refunded them, buyer has then apoligised for not contacting me first and thanked me for my willingness to sort out the issue, and then become a repeat buyer,

Defect for 3star rating on item description makes it abit tougher,

Love the way there kind enough to have no defect for p&p charges as trs sellers are forced to offer free p&p anyway to get the premium discount,

Apart from that no more that 2 defects every out of 100 transactions = *PISS EASY*

I don't get what this is about.

What's this defect for??? As in no more TRS or they stop you from selling totally?

The 2% is the maximum for top rated sellers. If you exceed 2% you lose trs status.

I think 5% was the max for standard sellers. I imagine if you exceed 5% you receive indefinite selling restriction.
