eBay Purchase Returned but no refund! what can I do?
 

Guys,

Account is real and been selling a few items too. I purchased an item for under $50 and when arrived the box was in bad shape and item defective.
Took it back to FedEx and they marked it as refused and sent it back to seller.

It was FREE shipping. The tracking number shows it was delivered back to sender. Now, the seller is saying I had to pay return shipping cost and send it back and just being an a**hole. Refusing to refund.

I know I can open PP case or eBay case for "item not received" and the tracking number shows it was delivered back to seller in his state.

I can open case and easily get my money back and leave him a neg FB too BUT do you think if I open a case against a seller it may look suspicious?

I am planing to actually sell more on eBay and call to increase the limit but don't know if I open this case against this seller, eBay may give me hard time when increasing my own selling limits?

I don't want to make eBay confuse thinking that case was opened against me as a seller.

If you suggest to open a case. Should I do it with PP or eBay?

My main concern is about when I want to call in future to increase my selling limits and eBay agent may give me hard problem for this buying case.

Do you have a tracking number that states you returned the item?

Yes, I do. The same tracking number (FedEx) seller used to send the item. It was refused and shows it was returned to sender. So it never got to me.

However, my question was something else? did you read the details what I am trying to say and do?

Hmmm, I read your usual I am going to call in to get limits increased talk.

Must be some block with you. You have posted several times and been advised to not do this.

Dear Seller of the $50 item

Please check the parcel returned to you by Fed Ex. The item was declined for delivery because the state of the box rendered the item defective. You need to deal with Fed Ex as to costs involved here.

Since the tracking number kindly supplied by YOU shows this item is returned, I expect the refund of my purchase within 72 hours.

If no refund is received I will file a claim.

File a dispute, Paypal/eBay will issue you a full refund guarenteed after they confirm the tracking number. You don't need to deal with this nonsense from the seller. He has no right to ask you to reimburse him. If anything, he should be reimbursing YOU.
