Hi Everyone,

I am having a problem, I tried to list an item i wanted to sell but got this error message"you can't complete this listing right now. See below for details.
Because you’re new to eBay you have a limit on the number of items you can sell in this category per 30-day period. This means you won't be able to complete this listing right now, but you may still be able to list other types of items in other categories.

You can come back and complete this listing:

• if one of your current listings ends without a sale in this category, or

• after 30 days have passed since your first item was sold in this category, or

• if you increase your limit by confirming your personal information. To confirm your identity now, click the List your item button at the bottom of the page.

These limits help us make sure all new sellers establish a good track record with us and meet their buyers' needs in categories where buyers have higher expectations. The number of items you can list is limited in selected categories for a minimum of 90 days after your first eBay Sale. You can see the date of your first eBay Sale in your Seller Dashboard under "Your eBay Sales." If you haven’t sold an item yet the date will appear after you make your first sale.

"Also when i click on Confirm Your Identity Now" It says "Please contact customer care to help us confirm your identity"

Well, it tells you what you can do...

What question are you asking?

Either wait until until 30 days has passed since you first sold the item your tying to sell, or try to confirm your ID.... Not much more to it.

Should i call ebay?, what im afraid of is what they will ask to confirm my identity

If you are desperate to sell more, create more stealth accounts.

You would do well of to spend a few hours reading the forum, you would then know you should never call eBay unless you have no choice.

I'm not clear on what you are asking. What category is it?

Are you saying you have never listed any items in whatever category it is when this message pops up?

So basically you may be trying to list in a category that isn't allowed to new member's or.......

You have listed say, 5 items within the same category and eBay is cutting you off at 5 items per month on THAT category.

I just had this happen to me selling various clocks. Upon trying to list my 8th clock eBay sent me the same notice they sent you.

Better not to call eBay until you get some more advice from here and offer some more facts for us such as what category and how many items already listed in this category.

Every call to eBay opens you up to examination by human at eBay's end.

the category is Electronics, Im hoping to sell one of the other electronic items i have, then i should be able to list another.

Dont call in. Wait for the time to elapse on this account.

Make backup accounts - sell on those.

Keep it simple.

Electronics...ugh, always trouble on a new account...let your account grow naturally - don't push it by calling.

Yeah electronics are touchy especially if you are listing multiple items on an account that is not seasoned with a good 6 months worth of positive sales and an all 5-star rating.

Remember, waiting for 1 to sell in order to list another won't work.
eBay wants you to wait until the next month which is when they reset your limits.

After 3 to 4 months your limits will more than likely increase so long as you keep your account flawless. Not guaranteed but likely.

Also know that auctions that have not ended in March are then carried over into April and still count against your monthly limits.
