How often do you guys go beyond the 100/5000 limits? Do I need to max out my limits now to get a raise beyond 100/5000?

It usually takes me about 3 months on average, just doing very lite selling of non branded low risk items

Sometimes you get crazy jumps out of no where

The slower you go on the account I find the faster and bigger increase

After I make an account I'll usually list and sell one item no kore than couple dollars, and ship it out same day if possible! once it's out I'll leave the account for 5-6 weeks or so, I find doing this's and than going back to the account and start selling after 6 weeks rest gives me a raise often or soon after I start listing

Hmmm, interesting. So you're saying that it's a type of item you list to get the 100/5000 huh. Now you're getting me thinking.

It has always been the type of item you list that allows early growth of limits.

Provided the listings are not flagged within the ebay parameters, selling limits should raise.

Keep on thinking

;)

Just wondering what these items were that increased limits? I've seen people sell cheap electronic coupons and recipes just to get seller feedback. Would this lead to an increase?

Uggh, I have so much authentic makeup items I want to just get sold already, I assume eBay will see this as high risk due to all the counterfeits being sold by Chinese sellers

Re: 100/5000 limit on my new account

What type of items would you recommend listing to gain eBays trust for an increase? Maybe clothing, nothing designer? Random household items? Nothing risky or anything has to be authenticated I would assume..

Low priced , with no big Name Brands

Prior to my suspension I sold new and used authentic designer handbags which are quite pricey. At what point do you think it would be safe to start introducing these type of items? I understand at first sell low priced no name items..but for how long?

Re: 100/5000 limit on my new account

There's really no timing on that. The moment you start introducing those items, the risk goes up right away.

But by selling those generics and building history will strengthen your account's reputation.
At the same time, it's a good idea to do so as it'll teach you how to give good service which should carry over when you sell your high ticket items.

going to depend on different factors:

Selling limits.

How the account is made.

Activity of the account in its early days as it is first used for stealth. By that, no complaints & gaining high DSRs, feedback. Having an account that appears OK to ebay/paypal.

Getting increased limits helps to start to introduce different merchandise.

Not realistic to put a time frame for your type of items though.

Firstly, I get an increase from 10/500 --> 100/5000 automatically (without calling eBay) and I do this within the first 30 days of setting up the account.

Secondly, I get an increase from 100/5000 ---> 300/7500 maually (by calling eBay) and I usually do this around the 60 day mark.

Whenever you are attempting a limits increase you should max out your current limits prior to applying for the increase. You also need to make sure your account are in order with good feedback (ideally 98% or better) and all your seller ratings are good (ideally above 4.8).

How do you do the 1st one?

Re: 100/5000 limit on my new account

Calling in for limit raises is very dangerous and if done wrong...it will backfire, so calling in should not be taken without warning.

Re: 100/5000 limit on my new account

I tried when I called in after the MC999 I get after listing my first item and after they realized they couldn't find me on the database. They decided to let me proceed at 10. I then tried Ricky084's method asked for higher limits, He again when to the data base and couldn't find anything to ask, he told me he could raise me to 30 items. I never sold a thing. I'm going to try again tomorrow on another account that got an MC999.

Wait, there is a way to automatically raise selling limits without calling? I didn't know this was possible...

Naturally.......

Re: 100/5000 limit on my new account

Is it after you reach your limits or? Just confused how to do it naturally

bjammin 04-17-2014 10:06 PM

Re: 100/5000 limit on my new account

When they/we say naturally, it just means you do not call EB. You wait, patiently, and EB just gives you the limit increase. This takes, on average, 3 months. Sometimes shorter, sometimes longer. There is no rhyme or reason. It just happens one day. This is also why it is important to create multiple stealths.

Calling raises flags. It gives them a reason to look over your account because you want an increase in privileges. You do not want them looking into stealth accounts. If they see flags, then it is MC999 time (suspension). Now they want paperwork before it becomes un-suspended. Even paperwork is not a sure way to get the account back. So, it's just easier and better to wait patiently for EB to NATURALLY increase the limits w/o you doing anything.
