how do you print first class mail labels online?

hi,
the usps site only lets you print priority and express shipping labels on their site. Paypal allows first class mail but my address is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ so the "From" field would not have my address and if a package is undeliverable it wont get returned to me.
How can i print first class mail labels without using paypal shipping? (and i prefer free, but if there is a small fee thats ok too)
thanks

Endicia does do 1st class and lets you pick your return address information.
They do offer a 30 day free trail and then a paid monthly fee after that.

So, if all of your personal information listed in ebay and pp is made up, everyone is using a different service in order to ship out their items since you can't use the bogus one b/c of having the wrong addy on it. Am I understanding this correctly?

Do you guys use your correct address for shipping items out? How else would you get them back if undeliverable?

Personally I use a return address that is a PO Box.
In the slot for the name I use my business name on all my packages.
Business Name
PO Box 1234
City, State 12345

That way one can remain anonymous.
Any and all returns are also sent to this address.

There's stamps.com

It's $15 a month for standard and hides your postage.

It's $7.50 a month if you mind your customers seeing your postage amount without insurance cost. Lots of buyers think that sellers have a magic hat that they pull unlimited free packing material out of (even if a seller had a tree that grew bubble wrap, cardboard boxes, and labels on it would still cost the seller money to water it and prune it but most buyers wouldn't even go that far in thinking) and they think insurance comes free with first class mail.

USPS has a stand alone shipping program you can download called "SHIPPING ASSISTANT". I use it for some items and it will allow you to set the return address to whatever you want. Furthermore, it will allow you to use just about any type of class of service the USPS offers and you can also print labels without postage if need be.

yea but you still have to take it to the PO. they won't let you pay. i tried it for about a month

Yea i use to use stamps.com but they charge $15. Then i used clip n ship (shipping assistant), like modee and Signal says, they only let us ship priority. They'll let you print out first class but you have to pay in the PO. But DC is cheaper.

i found a way to print first class on paypal by using bulk shipping. BUt you have to use another paypal account w your real address.

i find that stamps.com is really the best way. I guess i can always charge it to customers' part of the handling fees ;)

thanks guys for your help!

Actually, im gonna use Dymo instead, thanks Modee!

Printing mailing labels

Is there a reason that you could not just print Priority mail labels - much better than 1st Class, using the PAYPAL link - and just edit the return address to one that works for you? In my case it would be me PMB at the UPS store up the street. That is my plan.

Jonas 10-17-2008 12:19 PM

For stamps.com's $15 fee, what you do is you charge the non-electronic rate for delivery confirmation to buyers instead of their 18 cents and you actually save money.

Ebay_Victim 10-23-2008 04:09 AM

Yea but when you use your ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address, what should i use? i have a box number. just use the correct box number instead of the ⊗⊗⊗⊗?

I have printed out paypal shipping labels, then taken magic-white and whited-out the PO Box number on the label. Then used a fine point black pen and neatly wrote in the real PO Box number on the label. The shipping labels get taped over with clear tape and unless you look extremely close, you don't even notice that the return address has been altered on the shipping label. I have done it with the return name as well on another paypal account with no problem on many labels. It just takes more time.

I have gotten packages from sellers with black magic marker right through the name and another name handwritten in, so I don't think the USPS disallows changes on mailing labels. However, I feel that method looks too suspicious to a buyer, as if you are trying to hide something.
