Question on Authorized Users
 

So my female friend has an account that was created 5-6 years ago in a location where other people used the same computers/ips to create/use ebay accounts. Something happened to one of the accounts, and everyone who had an account that used that location had their accounts brought down.

My friend has asked me for help with trying to explain to Ebay that her account isn't associated with the other accounts (Slim chance in hell, I know). The problem is, my real account is banned. I'm worried this might hurt her chances if she were to make me an authorized user to speak in her behalf.

Does anyone have any information on Ebays policies towards authorized users? Will they look into me to see if I have history with Ebay, and if so, will they automatically deny her appeal because of my status with them?

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If you are linked, they will definitely have access to ALL your info.

Have your friend join the forum.

They MAY deny the appeal - nothing is 100% though...

I wouldnt speak on her behalf - let her deal with the account

If she is just authorizing you to speak on your behalf on the phone they are not going to run a background check on you. If you are that worried use a made up name when you talk to them on the phone.

An authorized user on the account has nothing to do with the account but may be helping to run the business and is knowledgeable about the account.

No worries, just give a Stealth name. But your friend should be able to handle this without any problem.
