Vacation

I just have a quick question. It looks like it has basically been answered with search but my only concern is the number of accounts.

I have 10 accounts. Will it become suspicious if all these accounts are suddenly logging in from the location I am on vacation at? I will be changing the IP each time with tether and will have the same cookies installed.

Re: Vacation

I think it is more your paranoia making you question this. I do the same thing. Realistically, out of all the accounts, I do not think they will notice unless they manual review those accounts at the same time. And I think the odds of that are probably greater than you getting struck by lightning, winning the powerball, and getting hit by a train while surfing, all at the same time.

Then again, they could have a program to target accounts that sign in out of normal area. But I doubt it.

That's just by opinion.

Re: Vacation

Ok thank you. I think I will just risk it and send my labels back to my business partner to do the shipping.

Winning the powerball would be nice though. Probably wouldn't have to worry too much about ebay:)

What do you think?

10 accounts all logging in from a similar area at the same time???

No bells regarding linking happening/

How long is the vacation? Is there any reason why you can not trade for a period?

Re: Vacation

Its a week or maybe a week and some. It equates to a loss of around 1500 dollars if I do not sell that week so I'd prefer to keep it going. But I do know this forum knows more than me so I am curious for everyones opinion.

I use inkfrog so I could always use their shipping service to keep my log ins to a minimum.

Ah but consider this, my friend....

I do tin hat stealth.

My aim is to try to encourage others to see ALL points of view.

For me, stealth is not black & white.

It is using knowledge carefully.

Re: Vacation

Maybe I will just take the risk. At least the forum will have some idea afterwords of what happens when you need a vacation

Re: Vacation

Why not run 7 day auctions from the day you leave until the day you get back and make a HUGE note at the top of your listing that you are on vacation and will return XX-XX-XXXX to answer questions etc.

Depends on how many days you will be gone.

It is what I do when I go on vacation.

Never an issue other then someone asked a question on an account like 1 min before it ended and I was not online to answer it.

Re: Vacation

I was thinking that too but the just over a week thing bothers me as I do not have a set time when I will get back. I could always schedule some listings too if I need to I guess.

I appreciate all the advice from everyone.

Now that's a very interesting thought on handling of vacations. We're going to be gone for ten days. I had been thinking of doubling my buy it now prices till I get back. Now I'm thinking of moving them all to a 10 day auction instead. :thumb:
Thanks for the excellent tips.
Cheers

If you're accounts are not used to changing IPs, you might get prompted to verify your info. My suggestion, don't risk it.

Re: Vacation

I never have to worry about this as I hate all modes of modern transpiration. Max I want to be in a car is 30 mins. So I rarely leave town more than day thankfully max my family distance from me is hour in a car. I never go to beach so family goes without me. Now that got cats got excuse to stay home. Older I get more my hate becomes of traveling used could stand few hours took to get to beach. And I am only 35.

Why on earth would a sensible stealth person go on vacation and risk using different IPs?

Im on vacation right now.
I log into every single one of my accounts everyday - using teamviewer.
my computers at home are on and I log onto my home computer and maximize the screen so it looks and feels like Im on my home computer for all intents and purposes - BUSINESS AS USUAL.
Teamviewer is free and a crucial part of my operation and I cannot say enough good things about it.

only If there are no issues and a connection can be maintained.

That is rarely a given.

Great does not cut it if accounts are put into jeopardy with communications failure.

My question is do you bring the inventory you sell with you while you are on vacation?
