for those who need items to sell on a new account.

One of the largest issues discussed here on the forum Is whst to list on a new account.

We all have discussed not to sell new, name brand, high risk, electronics, cell phone items, high priced etc.

Reduce the risk of getting a mc999 on a new account I suggest to sell used yard sale, household etc.

Has worked perfectly for me for years.

There is a cool app I used to find local yard sales to grab great items for your new accounts.

App is called yard sale treasures.

Try it and let me know what you think.

Tgmt.. do you use this app?

The first thing I noticed is the a$$hole that was the first person to leave them feedback in iOS says, "Great app!"...then rates them one star. If there is a rating system, all the morons in this world will find you.

Good recommendation though Sandy :)

Re: for those who need items to sell on a new account.

Some people are not smart enough to take free advice and use it to their advantage.

I have made a small fortune as I am sure TGMT has in my lifetime picking yard sales and other places such as flea markets, auctions, estate sales, thrift stores.

This is an app that can easily make anyone a ton of money by saving you time looking for yard sales.

Two weekends ago I used it and ended up in a community that I purchased so much stuff that it would not fit into my Suburban and I had to get a receipt at many places and call the hubby to bring the van.

Tons of money to be had going to a few yard sales on Saturday alone.

And the other important thing is helping someone from getting the listing mc999 by listing some low end, cheaper yard sale type items.

Some people just dont appreciate anything you do for them.

Looks like a great App Sandy D, Beats trying to just pull up Craigslist at the house and make a map lol. i ALso like to hit it freestyle where just go cruising up and down certain parts of town making it a good morning drive. Yard Sales have always been my best way to go to make some good extra cash. Also what works good in my area are Local Online Auctions which only do walk in pick ups been making a killing off those the last couple years too. Great Advice on the App. :)

I couldn't find it in the Iphone Apps section?? I did find an app called "Yard Sale Treasure Map", which works off the same premise as the one your talking about. Can't wait to give it a spin and see what pops up:) I had the best luck with yard sales and estate sales back in the early 2000's while living in Denver, CO. Best score ever was a 70s deco lamp that I bought for $75 and sold for $1550 on eBay:) Any one else have any awesome stories of finds and resales?

Hi Sandy when you go to yard sales do you just buy off experience/instinct or do you have terapeak/ebay open to check on past prices?

Ive heard alot of people scan barcodes if the product has one to see what price it is going for on Amazon - is this something you do ?

Yes, we had a good thread a year or so back where people posted their finds.

Many good stories.

Mine was a Babe Ruth autographed and authentic found in a barrel of other vintage baseballs at a flea market for 0.50.

I carry my Samsung tablet or my Galaxy S4 with me all of the time.

I have been doing this since I was a kid and usually dont have to check vintage or collectible items much.

Yes, I have a bar code scanner on my phone and tablet to check items for Amazon.

Item are out there. Just have to have some luck and be out looking.

Dont forget the person who paid 2.00 for a framed print in Ohio and it had an original copy of the Declaration of Independence or something behind it. Sold for millions.

No, but I think it would help the members that are new to going to garage sales to locate some good areas.

I think it is more important to establish good routes and rotate them during the month. Kind of like finding good fishing holes. :)

I have several Great routes that it took me over a year to perfect.

Thank you SandyD I have been trying to find the best way to find items for my accounts to sell. This will be very helpful since I am short on items to sell around the house. :)

I also buy a ton of box lots at local antique auctions.

Great new account start up item.

Re: for those who need items to sell on a new account.

This only works if your local power company has a buy back program for old freezers, frig. The money go towards a credit on your power bill.

I did this back in high school still living at my mom's house. I would go around my local neighborhood for yard sales. I would try to find some old freezers or frigs for really cheap. I would just tell the seller that I just need so and so part so I cant pay much.

I buy it, call up my local power company, they came and picked it up from my house. By the time I moved out of my mom's house, she had a credit on the power bill of close to $225. I did this about once a month during colder times, and 2-3 times during the hotter times, esp. the summer time.

There is always money to make on yard sales.

What does freezers have to do with items to sell on ebay as your first item on a new account? Am I missing your point?
