MC999 Today...Selling Limits Reduced
 

About a week ago, a buyer opened a case on me, because he had not received his item. I tracked it, and it was sitting at his PO for going on 3 weeks, and by the way, he left me a negative.....so, I escalated the case myself and told ebay what was going on. They ruled for me, unfroze the funds and removed the neg he had left me.

However, 1 day later I got a MC 999 message from ebay, saying they had now reduced my limits to 19/850. They did not give a specific reason. I hope when some time goes by, the limits will increase again. I should mention that I had not been selling over 1k a month on that account for some months.

Did the negative get removed?

They usually reduce limits if you dont reach them every month and the drop it to the average or they reduce it based on cases /DSR ratings.

Yes, I said the neg got removed...Also, like I said, I haven't been selling close to my limit...but I think the case triggered all of this.

can you cap out the item# limit to try to get an increase again?

Yes, it'll be easy to max out $850...we'll see if that does any good?

It sucks, it is an eBay glitch. Just be thankful you can still sell on eBay. This is why everyone on here. Suggests make backup accounts. Even if life is golden. You never want to be in a situation where you get caught with your pants down and have nothing at all to even try to weather the storm.

even if the negative was removed & went in your favour the case still took place.
You need to check your DSR's not just for the case but in general.

Your limits dont get reduced for no reason.

I believe the call triggered that.

It is also possible that those robots roaming the streets of eBay have a problem. They reduced limits on an account that was indefinitely suspended and unregistered.

have not seen that yet, that really sucks since sometimes cases are unavoidable. they must have detected something or saw you were not verified w ssn if it was stealth..

bummer on that situation. I would do like u said keep selling and see if it grows but def start creating backups if you havnt already

There was no "call" to ebay, everything done thru computer......I believe the case being filed by the buyer triggered it, even though they quickly ruled for me. I'm going to sell up to the $$ limits for the next few months and see if on my next review they increase it up.......Vogel, I have 14 stealths now, besides my 5 normal, old accounts....this site, and all on it, have saved me lots of sleepless nights.

Very likely triggered by this case - sad but it happens. Time to make and build backup stealth accounts
