Sorry if this has been covered. I got locked out of a stealth account after using ccleaner, its a good account as well, so I called in and got it cleared up without dropping a clanger I then got this email:

We know that members may use more than one computer to access their eBay accounts, and that different eBay members may share the same computer. As an enhanced security measure, we now note the computers each member uses for buying and selling, and store a unique ID on the computer to link it with each user ID.
If you’re using different computers, you only need to complete your identity confirmation once for each computer. So unless the cookie with the unique ID is deleted, you won't have to do this again.

Am I reading it wrong or could they link different accounts logged on same computer but different user accounts?

I believe that if EB was truly looking at each computer and not just the UserID then we would have a lot of suspended stealths right now. Could this just be another EB lie/scare?

No it came from Ebay for definite. I had a conversation with their person and they said i had wiped the cookies. Which I had with ccleaner. They restored the account and said you will receive an email in next 5 minutes explaining about cookies....the above is an exert from message.

They are referring to placing cookies on your PC.

They certainly can't see the number of user accounts you have.

Just need to establish activity on the account - it has happened to me when you change computers too and try to operate too quickly

To add to this, one thing I have noticed with PayPal which is ODD.
When you used to upload documents it used to show the directory as to where you were locating the documents from, i.e. C:/Documents/Users/Callidus/Desktop/PhotoID....

Now when you go to upload it is showing the name of the computer you are using which is the original name of the PC when you first set it up.....possible linking technique...? This computer ID is showing on multiple windows user accounts when uploading the docs to different PP's
