When/How do my selling limits automatically go up without having to call eBay?
 

Hi,
I recently got a bump in the amount of money ebay is allowing me to earn per month. I did not contact them to ask for higher selling limits but now I need a bump in how many items I want to sell per month.

What are their benchmarks in order for them to automatically bump the amount of items I sell per month? I have 100% feedback, over 150 feedback given, 10 year old account, 40+ feedbacks given in this last month.

I do not want to have to call them up to ask for a increase in selling limits.

I was just wondering if anyone knows how or when their system will automatically do it.

The forum is widely against calling for limit increase, I did it once and got the consequences and will never do it again.

It is different for every account. Some get it in 30 day, some 3 months or a year.
There is no definite answer, but it usually happens around the 20th of the month when your account is evaluated.

Limits will be increased on the 1st of the month but will be evaluated on the 20th. It's a waiting game... if you need to sell more open more accounts

No limits increase around the 20th of the month, but they reset on the 1st of the month.

Not in the 30+ accounts I have they don't. I get MC999 on the first of the month with limit increases.

There is no real accurate answer for your question...if you need to sell more, open more accounts, you'll be better off in the long run that way anyway.

Always better to have many baskets with a few eggs in each, than 1 with all the eggs in it.

Spread your sales, you can always open up more accounts. Then you will have an army of high limit accounts

You need to stop thinking in terms of "bots", It's a Computer System that determines increases.

Ebay has thousands of sellers.....I doubt they have enough employees for such a task, now if they want they can review your account manually at any time.

I would prefer eBay staff over a bot anyday. eBay staff had the combined iq of a of a single kangaroo. No offence to the kangaroos out there.

But that kangaroo can still get you banned for any reason.

In the end you never want to anger, "the bot(s)", the system, or the kangaroos. Keep all 3 happy and making some $$$$.

And if you call for a limit increase, you are effectively asking for a person to review the account

What are the pitfalls of calling in the request? I did half a year ago and they gave me a huge bump (after telling them I deserve it) on the spot.

Basically call at your own risk. If you think you can BS them good enough and you have nothing in your account that will raise flags, go for it but be ready to pay the price.

Because out of the millions of accounts on ebay, you will get that one rep thats had a bad evening with the hubby or wife and then take it out on all of your hard work. :spy:

Game changed since last year.

Forum on the whole recommends avoiding calling in.

this is to prevent the consequences that occur.

Suggest you do a heap of reading to find out all the good info you must know to beat ebay.

You said your account was 10 years old. What are your current limits now? Is this a stealth account or real account?

The consequences people are referring to is identity verification, i have a an account with over 52 dsr ratings averaging 4.9 in describe, and of course same or higher in the rest. It was at 10 items 4 months ago, and i was irritated, i called them up, the guy bumped me to 25. I think i was in the 25 feedback range then, i've doubled that in dsr's and i am still at 25 items. Once they manually increase you, it seems you don't get automatic upgrades, i just had a few end of january accounts bump up to 100 items, and i also have another created on feb 26th with 45 dsr's all 4.9 or higher and it's still at 25, which it started at. I have another that is 5.0 with 27 dsr ratings, and it's still at 10 items from jan 25th, a few of my 26ths of january were bumped as i mentioned earlier, if i have 5 month old accounts stuck at 10, i might call. Or else, i'll just sell 10 $100 items. I typically save my more expensive items for established accounts of 40+ feedback. I also don't list anything branded, especially the branded items ebay gets alot of foofoo of, until the account can list 50-100 items. Not worth it.

Lost a 50 starter account because i was cooking breakfast and didn't get to the phone in time, talk about being pissed all day sunday.
