New stealth account with 0/0 selling limit
 

I have read the previous forum posts regarding this issue but curious if anyone who has run into this situation has braved it and called eBay to raise limits? Has anyone been able to save their account after starting with a 0 selling limit?

That error generally has to address/bank account confirmation

you either did not link and cc and or bank account and attempted to start selling.
Or your address is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and is not the a ebay database.

It happens. Personally with new stealth accounts. I always create them as buyer accounts as well as the PP. Always register the gift card and buy some cheap garbage here and there to get a few buying feedback. Before I register to sell down the line. Gotta know who to play eBay's game.

I get this rarely. I know on my end what caused it.

I started using a system where I was tethering off my phone to manage some accounts (to give a different ip obviously).

After some time, all the accounts I was registering using the wifi off the phone were getting the 0/0 just as yours is. I figured the ip range must have been too small as they were all just a few digits apart, ebay might have started flagging them. I never re-used the same ip, alway's logged the ip that I got from the phone, so I know it wasn't because of matching IP's. Had to be the range as far as I'm concerned, that's the only thing that was different about those accounts.

and to answer your question:

Why bother to save the account? Much less time consuming and less stressful to just make a new one, at least for me.

You can if you call them and can pass the questions.

Might as well start over and do it right from the start.

same thing with me, it was the address. the address of any link or not verifying in their system correctly will trigger a 0/0.

As mentioned here 0/0 is from tethering, so that means you need to go use public wifi's or find a dongle ebay hasn't banned.. but after that, using the cell phone to manage the accounts is fine. Just during creation it needs to be something other than mobile tethering ip. Anyone able to create accounts without 0/0 on at&t, verizon etc..? I can tell you sprint doesn't work, and i assume virigin mobile doesn't either since it runs on sprint network.

force roaming doesn't work either, while you're roaming, the ip the phone gets is the "roaming" range even though you're on another network, it's a different mobile range of ips for your home service while roaming, but still ebay 0/0's those accounts, and i said earlier another thread, the 0/0's they really don't like ever upping you past whatever they give you to start. If you sell near that max they give you to start with. you have a 50/50 shot of getting an email about having to provide receipts for the goods.

I have created 6 stealth account in the past month tethering to my iphone on Verizon with no problems....start has been 10/1000 so far on all.

I'm fairly certain the 0/0 limits has to do when your personal information does not match something in the "database".

I had one stealth get this, I put in completely made up info for the address and everything, and when I called in they "verified me" just by first/last name and DOB, but the address couldn't be found so they asked me to fax in utility bill and front/back of ID.

Fun note, the lady told me "your utility bill doesn't need to show stuff like account #, what you owe, or any personal information; just to show your name + address receives mail."

Now I just find a random real estate site and pick a house that is listed for information, haven't had 0/0's since. I'm sure if I could very likely use an address that has been added already, but they only care if that address has had a bad account/user before. Far less of a gamble IMO.

As the above post. I agree, IMO, most of the time 0/0 limits happens when your address can't be automatically verified in the pub database. It can also be triggered by brand name keywords when you start listing even if that passed (pretty much the equivalent of an alternate MC999). If you listed a safe item, my bet is on the personal information you chose. If I hit that, I just start from scratch again or work on another account, don't even bother calling in..

Just to let everyone know I have been getting these too! I don't have any control of the I.P since I'm living in a house in which the landlord controls the internet. I have used my PHONE and MIFI as my internet to change i.p ...basically started getting 0/0 after 4th account and got them on 5 straight accounts. I called in and ended up waiting like 1 1/2 hours but the girl I talked to did the whole we have to verify you...didn't find anyone (stealth obviously) she said well since I can't find you I can give you 10 - 1000 limit but I can't give you more... If your like me and have accounts with PAYPAL VERIFIED and don't want to just WASTE the accounts..go ahead and give ebay a call, why not? Some of you are just WAY to paranoid to even call. Word of advice, be the person your made up stealth person...or it will NEVER work.

I also have been having this problem My paypal was not verified, so maybe thats the reason.. I called and the lady said he couldnt find me in there "database" and couldnt do anything for me. smh
