i was browsing ebay and i saw this
 

i saw that some people were selling the manuals for products for a hefty price. are you allowed to sell manuals on ebay for a hefty price where your trying to trick the person into believing its the real thing and not the manual? is it allowed?

No, that's not allowed.
It takes time for eBay to pull all of them down because a lot of them are trying to pull this oldest trick in the book. Even if your item does sell and the buyer realized his error after wards, eBay and Paypal will ALWAYS side with the buyer for these cases. So whatever scam you're thinking of, don't try it. It won't end well for you.

but is it really a scam though? and can you link me to where its not allowed? your stating perfectly clear that its a manual and not the actual thing.

It's only acceptable if you clearly states that you're selling the manual in both the title and descriptions, and along with an an appropriate listing image of the manual. However, it's not okay if you're trying to deceive the buyer into thinking he's buying the actual product the manual is for. Otherwise, it's violating eBay's search and browse manipulation policy (ebay link warning)

Forum is really meant towards stealth processes and not so much how-to-sell-this kind of manual...seems like you are wanting proof for your sales...takes research of your own

Why would you base your business model off of deceiving buyers , do you really think you will get far, You may not even have the funds released to withdrawal anyway , you need to ship the product and if tracking is uploaded funds are usually released 3 days after delivered as long as no problems

And in this case there will be issues, and if you think eBay will side with the seller you are mistaken

I happened upon a similar scam a few years ago. Someone selling a photo of a laptop trying to trick someone in an auction format.

I noticed that the bids were getting high, so I figured I'd foil his scam and threw down a huge bid. I figured after I won I could notify eBay to cancel it. Instead the brain dead eBay rep refused to cancel the unpaid item, she completely did not understand the scam. Last time I ever tried a eb good deed.

NATIT....there is no way a scam like that will work.....anyone that sells a decent amount of stuff on ebay knows how slanted it is these days, to the buyer....waste of time even thinking about doing something like that unless you just crave problems in your life......because it will cause many.
