I am going to venture out on a limb here and say "No!" There are a lot of ppl selling counterfeit DVDs on eBay. So I am pretty sure that they are very heavily frowned upon.
Can you produce proof of purchase for these DVDs?

Are you talking originals or copies?

Actually an area I would not consider selling in. Too much phake stuff and people losing accounts over selling them.

Agree....DVD's are problematic, lots of VERO issues, Competitor Issues, Buyer Issues.

ah, yes.

Not sure which is worse. Competitor or buyer,

Protect your accounts from that scenario at all costs.

Legit DVDs are fine. However... They are not recommended for new eBay accounts. They are a highly flagged category. Even if you have an established account, once you begin to sell high risk items start slow and build up.

As always if you are trying to sell the newest hottest title. eBay will increase it risk profile of your account.

Yes it is fine. I don't understand why people are saying it isn't as you can sell anything on eBay if you sell the right way.

Having legit suppliers, providing them the proof of authenticity, if you are a business seller speak to them and tell them what you are going to sell and how much you expect to sell per month etc. People highly advise against this on the forum but on a new account with no history I personally have experienced that it builds trust on the account from day one.

Atleast for US accounts. If you are legit like you say. It can flag a MC999 call into eBay. If you running stealth and they run your info through public database that can be a problem. While I agree selling legitimate DVDs and other items are find. It is recommended that you start with other household low risk items and go from their to build trust with eBay. Unfortunately this is not the old days where you could just create an account and go crazy with items like this.

As I say, I have never had problems from day one, I know it isn't the same all round but done the right way anything is possible. I would advise 30-45 day wait before listing anything. I listed used items on an account 20 days old and got MC999 but never had problems with accounts that are older.

Just my experiences.

Re: is it okay to sell dvds of movies on ebay?

Very good strategy. We must differentiate blank statements. These are ok to list period. Yes, if you have an established account, etc. All things are relative. Having a game plan for starting stealth accounts is key to success. Also not just starting but maintaining accounts.

You must understand the high risk categories, what eBay looks for in risky accounts. The types of behavior that will trigger things like MC999 and suspensions. All accounts are run by a huge risk algorithm. You are absolutely right about used items. They carry less risk than new items. Especially newer titles when it comes to things like DVDs.

Each stealth user must understand how to play eBay's game. Once you do so it will make being successful all that much easier.

what about used blu rays? I'm assuming those would fall in the same category as dvds in terms of risk?

I have listed new DVDs as my first items on many accounts and have had no issues. Your experience might not be the same.

As far as selling lots of them on one account are concerned, I have no experience. However, I have had lots of success with items deemed "high risk" but you need to make sure you have enough stealth accounts ready on hand in case you get the MC999.

Sell 'em on craig's list or something...don't risk your ebay account.

I wouldn't say that. Establish you stealth account with other items. Then slowly work them in. You can list items in high risk categories. You just have to build up your accounts with eBay so they trust you to do so.
