Buyer claims item not delivered

I sold an item first week of May. Item was delivered second week of May.

Today, buyer opens a case that item was not delivered. Tracking shows, item was delivered. Shipping label was bought via eBay.

Your thoughts?

I think some helpful information on the details would be to ask the following..

* How much was the item or how much did the item sell for?
* Did you send with signature confirmation?

If you purchased the postage through eBay or Paypal, you're most likely to be protected already because they usually automatically check the option to have signature confirmation for orders above $250. If the item is below that amount, you may still be covered as long as the item had valid tracking and was shown as delivered. You can call eBay to find out your options.

The item is very cheap, I can refund and forget. These buyers need to be taught a lesson.

I just want to avoid a strike against my account for "case not resolved by seller".

Re: Buyer claims item not delivered

signature costs more and is actually required on every item. ----this refers to a paypal filed claim

no one is gonna get signature for items 40 or under. at least I usually dont. it adds a few bucks more.

buyers know the game and file claims while they sit back with the item.
sad to see the system manipulated.

Black and white , open and shut case...call ebay and it'll take 3 minutes for them to rule for you and you're done. I've had the same thing 8 or 9 times. You don't need to have a signature...all ebay cares is the PO say's it was delivered.

Reply back with all info - be clear about it - don't worry too much about the strike/neg feedback

I replied to buyer telling them that, "The Item was delivered as addressed."

Buyer is requesting a refund, so strange; I am sure he has the item.

Sounds like a professional buyer - push back but honestly....what is the value on the item?

your kidding right?

just because ebay closes a case doesnt mean paypal wont reverse its decision.

signature is required to show proof of delivery via paypal.

paypal is where the cash is exchanged. basics, you should always get signature or you are at risk as a seller. nobody does it because its not worth it for cheap items.

If you read the OP post you will see he did send it with tracking and it shows as delivered.

Just post the tracking on the case again.. and when he tries to escalate it, it will more than likely go in your favour..

I think this is a case of principle.

If you think they are scamming you, AND you can get out of being neg FB, AND your item is legit... then i would call or fight it on the site.

If any of the above is a no, then I would probably refund them and get it out of your life. However, a refund doesn't clear you of a buyer leaving neg feedback.

I am sure you have already done this, but I would look to see what kind of feedback they leave others and what others have left them.

If you think they are scamming you, tell the buyer you are going to contact usps to open a fraud case and let them know the proper authorities will be in touch with them.

Call up EB show them the proof, and that's it. Call the buyer a scamer for trying to scam the system. Should they leave you a N or Negative just call back and have it removed. Just say "Hi I had a problem with a buyer claiming they never got it and tracking shows and now they left me a negative about this." They'll sure remove it.

Not a big deal really. As long as you got tracking. I pay for all my postage on EB directly. I had a buyer trying to do a chargeback after a few months. I keep all postages for 6 months on my computer. And the buyer even left me a positive feedback when he got it. EB/PP Seen the tracking + the positive feedback and said "don't worry about it you won the case".

Cheap item or not, if you let this go! They will keep doing it to everyone else. And if you got stealths they'll be back on other sellers! Me, I have a website that's free and I have the "reply to feedback" "block list" and I normally just put their names under the block list and when I log into each stealth I just click that block list button and it auto takes me to my block list and all I do is copy and paste their name from the website into the list. I had to get the link before doing this.

I always send these customers a message like that, but only before they opened a case.
Already worked in many cases
Works fine for me
