How do I set up a US account in Canada?

I have being reading posts and am still at a lost on how to set up a US account here in Canada.

I have a US account through ChiChat express (who delivers to the border)

Do I need a VPN IP? Us bank account - Can i buy a sellers account here?

It is not the hardest thing to do to make a US account while based in Canada - you would need the US IP.

For US bank account, I have gone to the US and made accounts there - I would NOT recommend you using someone else's account except if you get a VBA for verification...read around the forums about VBA.

VBA = Virtual Bank Account

Can be used for verification purposes but not for withdrawal.

Some US banks can do accounts by calling in and submitting ID - rare but doable.

In terms of ease of use, then Canada ( your base) is the better option.

Consider that.

@macgal, GB is wise about the opinion - easier to begin stealth by working with your Canadian IP - once you learn it THEN expand.

I started on eb.ca then expanded to accounts on .com and .co.uk...with few others being built

Yes i agree but I as patriotic as may or may not be - I want a US account - Just need to know the basics of setting the account up
- so far I know start a new ebay account? with us PO box addy (from chitchat express) using an US IP - paypal is cdn (but I believe I can switch addy)

_ not sure why I need a US account - can someone clarify?

Any help regarding why I need a bank account and not Paypal would be a great help - I am reading the forum as well
