Selling instantly

Hey everyone, I'm new here. I have been reading lots of threads lately and i have noticed a common suggestion - after creating an ebay account, don't start selling items instantly, especially high risk ones.

Does this really apply to everyone ? I can't imagine, that ebay would be hostile towards new accounts that start selling instantly, there must be dozen of people who do this and not even stealth accounts.

Also, what's considered a high risk item? Are video games or electronics high risk items?

And lastly, is it really necessary to use a CC to start selling on ebay ? I have seen some videos on youtube, where people just create an account and start selling immediately. ( Maybe it depends on the country ? )

Selling instantly applies to everyone, no matter what country you are from. Remember you are trying to avoid eBay bots not eBay. Anything you do is going to be flagged by eBay bots and then manually reviewed. Selling high risk products such as highly counterfeited products, any electronics, any branded items will instantly flag you. Pretty much anything you sell as new seller will be examined until you establish selling history.

Oh and don't expect to be making a killing on eBay either, these days are long gone so there is no point to rush. If you want to make a few pennies on the side every month, take it easy and eventually you will achieve your goal.

You'd be real surprised. There has been a lot of people on this forum who got suspended when they tried to sell fast with their newly registered account, and the account was made with their real info and they never had eBay accoutns before.

Could i establish a good history by selling 40-60$ items or do i need to wait 2 weeks before starting selling? Maybe a combo of both?

Also, would it help if i "bought" any items ? I could just bid for items, that i know i won't win and maybe this could make my account seem more legit?

Re: Selling instantly

Don't start selling anything before you establish browsing history. Start bidding, watching and buying a few items everyday. Do not buy too many products at once as this will also flag you. Then once you browse enough you can start selling. I would suggest you start selling products that aren't selling for more then a few dollars (up to $10). Once you get at least 10 selling feedbacks on your account, you can start selling a bit more expensive items. After 3 month you will be able to sell a lot more expensive items. eBay gives every new seller 3 month grace period. It's that time where you prove eBay that you can be a trusted seller.

I've done 35 stealth accounts now, and in my small sampling amount, I have found that the accounts I browsed a lot and waited 4 weeks or longer to start selling get limit raised faster than the others I don't wait on....I always wait at least 2 weeks on any account to start selling on every account. Electronics are a bad first item.

What country do you intend using?

You must be careful of how you run your accounts.

Try to follow the suggestions given.

They are real and known to work

I beg to differ
you can make a lot of money on Ebay and make enough to replace a full time job.

The sky is the limit, reach for it.

You NEED to establish an account before selling on it, and Buying does help, particularly more expensive items, things that cost in the $50.00 - $100.00 Range for example, as long as you have acess to the accounts address, simply buy a few items that you would normally buy for youself, like Pants, Sneakers, ect, ect, this kind of activity helps a LOT

Yeah I am also a full time seller and yeah the sky is the limit however the old good days of eBay are gone. You have to have 50x more products today in order to make the same profit you did many years ago.

And if you want to be extra safe wait the 4 weeks and get 10 positive feedback (with little items) before you start selling your heavy hitters.

Re: Selling instantly

from my experience you need to establish yourself with no name items for about 90 days before you can even think of selling brand name stuff.
