Should I call out a buyer?

I sold something 2 weeks ago, its a swimsuit set and I take my own photos of these, well today I log in and you know how it recommends listings to you based on things you've looked at, well I see this swimsuit set, Its my photo. I click on it, not only is it my photo its my listing Verbatim. I double check and its the same user that I sold to a couple weeks ago, reselling for a higher asking price. I don't care if people buy from me to resell I even offer wholesale lots sometimes when I just get more inventory than storage space BUT it kinda ticks me off that she is using my photo and listing.
She has over 300 feedback so she's not a noob and she should know better. question is would you call her out on it? I normally wouldn't hesitate except she hasn't left feedback for me from our original transaction yet.

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

no I wouldnt, only because it might cause them to look at your acc...
Ive done that before when something didnt fit, too lazy to take my own pic...meh...

Well has the buyer left you feedback already? Or he/she may try get revenge.

If they have left feedback then i would either ask the buyer to remove your listing or inform ebay of it as it is against the rules.

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

No buyer hasn't left feedback yet, that's the only reason I haven't said something to her yet. Normally it wouldn't bother me too much but I have a lot of repeat customers and I always use the same backdrop etc so they are accustomed to how my listings look and I don't want people to think I'm connected with this chicks account.

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

I would send the buyer/seller a nice message about re-using all your info to sell the item. It's one thing to re-sell it using their own info and pics but it's another to basically rip yours off.

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

I do it all the time when something doesn't fit because I don't like to return on eb. If you got your price who cares?

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

It's not allowed by eBay's own rules. Based on my experience, eBay will also do nothing about it.

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

Was this item a one-off? If not, I would call the buyer on it. If you are not selling more of these, I would leave it alone. Yes, it is galling when someone steals your listing, but is it worth it to possibly take a hit to your account or bring scrutiny to your listings? My choice would be "no".

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

eBay won't do anything, the report image theft link is worthless, and the other option is a vero copyright claim which will bring great scrutiny upon you.

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

There are a lot of ppl that break EB rules on here. It is just good medicine not to report other sellers for things. If anything you could message them, but I think I would even avoid that. You got your loot, mission accomplished! I understand you don't like being used (for photos) but I think you ought to just ignore it and go on.

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

My take on it is if it's a one time thing, just let it go.

Maybe they bought it and it didn't fit, or it was given as a gift someone didn't like?

Having them resell it is a whole lot better than you getting a return. :)

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

If it is a one time thing where someone is reselling something they bought from me I let it slide. I don't want the return or those problems. If they have taking your listing description, photos to use multiple times. Then definitely is worth calling them out on.

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

yuck, a return of a swim suit?

Let someone else have the angst.

With luck it might fall to pieces on that seller's buyer

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

sadly and having to bite my tongue i would just let it go,
if you have a go at them and get a neg feedback is that worth it ?
if they take it to heart and get one or two friends to buy from you
and leave negs or low dsr's
etc etc etc its not worth the worry or the stress,

maybe one note is to watch what they sell from you and if they are selling
those items at a higher price surely it means you could raise your own prices ?
this would cut down their profit, and increase yours,

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

if it is routinely being done to you by same person, that is different...a one-off, i wouldnt even consider reporting them, my acc is too important to me if it makes me monthly money...pettiness is something you need to forget with stealth and think bigger....

I am pretty sure this swimsuit made her look like a sack of potatoes, and she
is doing you a favour by reselling it......I never return due to not fitting right, you know how it is, correct size in theory but looks awful in the mirror..shoes that pinch etc. I am a seller myself and I just take on the burden of getting rid of offending item myself........she may be adding some extra t price to make up for the postage she paid on it or her hassle factor....or maybe you just undervalued it ...or maybe she is just delusional...who cares.

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

Look on the bright side. IF I searched for a swim suite.

And I seen 2 auctions. 1 at $35 and the other at $25. You being $25 and them being $35. Who do you think I would buy from? IF it should sell then you should thank them this has happened to you because this means you could sell it for way more money to earn more of a profit!

This is not a bad thing at all. The image part yes probably for you but look on the bright side once it's sold guess what? They won't use that picture no more!

If you message them they might want a refund. Or if you report that picture. So what do you want to do?

You are freaking out as it's your first time, but don't think negative look at it to better your future with this exp that is happening to you.

Re: Should I call out a buyer?

OP, your sale went through well and while using your info to resell the swimsuit is wrong...unless you are selling these suits as MASS sales, I wouldnt bother much about it.

e.g. if you were selling tons of these suits then likely could look into but...this is a hassle to worry about, your particular one-off case
