| mostdesirableman | 07-12-2014 10:48 AM | You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. Hi Everyone
I have a top rated seller account and recently when i tried to relist an item
it says '' You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. You can list up to 0 items or up to $0 this month, whichever comes first ''
ebay asked me to give them a call if i need to increase my limits
If i call them, What do they normallly ask?
Currently i have some mc9999 violations on both linked accounts
Is it risky to call?
As i heard there are pple who got banned because of calling
( due to thorough acct reviews by ebay )
Please help, thank you! |
ovidiu | 07-12-2014 06:23 PM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. TRS doesn't mean anything anymore. Any one can get banned for an arbitrary reason through the feared manual review. Isn't MC9999 duplicate listing violation? Not a really bad one as far as eBay goes. |
GreenBean | 07-12-2014 06:30 PM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. @ovidiu
It might be.
There is a linked account with violations.
ebay may not be happy here.
OP: please give some more info about the two accounts. Age, violations, country of listings. |

bjammin | 07-12-2014 07:14 PM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. I agree.....avoid calling and explore all other avenues first that you can go through. However, if nothing works, I would call. There is nothing to lose in your scenario. The accounts is at 0/0, so it is unusable at the moment. And I bet it will remain unusable until you satisfy EB somehow. So, that is why I say call as a last resort. The account is toasted at the moment, so whats to lose? |
pokerpro | 07-12-2014 08:55 PM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. I agree, if you don't call, it's gonna stay at 0/0 forever.... |
mostdesirableman | 07-13-2014 12:00 AM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. Hi
Thank you guys for your reply, really appreciate!
My both accounts are registered under thailand and both are 7-8 yrs
Currently, the account that exceeded the number of items limit still
have 400 over fixed price listings running.
It says i either need to wait for next month or request for a higher limit.
In this scenario, will it stay 0/0 even till next month
or will it renew the limit by itself?
Thank you in advance! |
mostdesirableman | 07-13-2014 02:35 AM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. You have sold 45 $690.15
You have listed (active) 445 $7,653.31
You can list 0 $0.00
Out of 0 Out of $0.00
You reached your selling limits for this month. Request a higher selling limit or check next month to see when you can list more items.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the notification i got from my account.
I dont understand the part '' You can list 0 $0.00,Out of 0 Out of $0.00 ''
Does it mean my account has already been restricted from total selling?
or is it just for this month? |
Dmshark25 | 07-13-2014 07:08 AM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. So when u look at selling limits they are 0/0 correct??
If this is the case you need to call in because there is a problem, when this happens a lot of times they have linked your account to a suspended account and reduce your limits to 0/0
Did you not log all you IPs and check before logging in to your account ??
The limits dropping to 0/0 can be a result of you logging in to your active account with an IP from a suspended one and they have linked you
They will keep your other items up and running , but if you call in and they determine that u are linked than all your active listings will also, come down and than the account is finished
They limited ur selling restrictions but kept the others up just in case they made a mistake because the link may not be 100%
But if u call and say i never had a suspended account , they basically say hold on lets see what's going on, and they will compare the accounts that you logged in with the same IPS
Now this is where making and selling totally different items and making listings look like a different person is very important, because if the items sold are the same and they see u used the same IP, that is it they will say this is no coincidence and shut u down
So my advice, if your not checking the IP and logging EVERYTIME before logging into an account than u have probably been linked
And if your suspended account you sold the same items or similar items and made listings the same than they will suspend ur account and take the listings down
So if I were u I'd wait until all the listings you have up finish, at list now u have listings up and can make sales, once u call in and they check the other accounts all those listings come down
So wait it out get as many sales as u can and than call in when no more listings are up and there's always a chance u can work things out but if things are the same that will be it |

Is it risky to call? | Your chances of solving this problem is low due to your links - you will need an eB agent to clear this up (or try to clear this up) - call might be in order |
eCOBB22 | 07-13-2014 10:46 PM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. Call in keep it professional and they will remove the restriction. I just had my removed on a new stealth account yesterday. After you're live just take it slow and be smart. Good Luck! |

Hi, Thank you so much for your help and reply!
Yes, currently the limit is 0/0
What happened was, the other day i tried to relist my items
and my gf 's account was still logged on on another ebay site.
Therefore i believe it prompted to the red flag.
By the way, i do not have any suspended account thats linked
They asked me to contact Ebay Singapore
Should i live chat them, is it risky? |
mostdesirableman | 07-14-2014 03:20 AM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. Just an update
I have just live chat with their customer support
They said my account was restricted due to open cases and some negative and neutral feedbacks.
They said i need to resolve the open cases ( which is not a problem, theres only 1 now )
But the weird thing, the CS said i need to resolve the negative feedback and neutral feedbacks?? when there are only 2 negative feedback and 4 neutrals,
Isnt that norm on most seller accounts ?
If i dont call in, the 0/0 will never increase.
What should i do? should i risk calling? |
Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. Ah ha - so more issues...open cases, negative feedbacks...you werent completely open with the problems on the account.
That kind of feedback IS NOT normal on most seller accounts.
Your accounts are pretty much a waste it would seem - make new stealth and don't waste time on this mess...linking, open cases, bad feedback...not normal |
mostdesirableman | 07-14-2014 09:53 AM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. After analysing, the actual reason for this restriction is due to my defect ratings.
Mine increased to 4.02% when the benchmark is 3%
Huge part of it came from custom delay in may and i had
many US buyers opened dispute for items not receive and increased my
defect rating.
I still have 400 over active listings, hope my future sales can decrease my defect ratings and lift the limit.
Otherwise, i still have take the risk to call Ebay, sigh!! |
Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. If you still have active listings....you better make changes for fast positive feedback and increased ratings |
imjustme | 07-23-2014 06:55 AM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. I've had this issue before. You need to wait until your bad ratings drop off, or improve them. If you can get your buyers to revise their feedback, do it. Especially the negatives. Then, the neutrals and resolve the open cases to their satisfaction. This will all lower your defect rate.
That rate is checked once a month, usually the same day your TRS rating is calculated.
In my case, I had to wait for 1 year for the ratings to drop off. As soon as they did, I was able to sell again. |
skinnyhardaway | 07-23-2014 01:02 PM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. Try to stall the calling if you can |
mostdesirableman | 07-25-2014 05:38 AM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. An update again,
My TRS account has a defect rate of 4.0 and they limited my selling limits.
We cant even renew our good till cancelled listings.
The active items are decreasing day by day. |
imjustme | 07-25-2014 06:06 AM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. See my reply above. At worst you may need to wait 1 year. |
mostdesirableman | 07-25-2014 06:33 AM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. Thank you for your reply
Btw, what was your defect rate that causes the limit?
I had lots of opened cases due to custom delay in april/may.
and this is totally out of sellers control.
ebay has to see this flause... |
imjustme | 07-25-2014 12:43 PM | Re: You’ve exceeded the number of items and dollar amount you can list. Mine was around 5% too. But it was before they showed it on the dashboard. I was told by eBay support that I was above the defect limit and that I had to wait for the low ratings to drop off, which take 1 year if they are recent, obviously. | All times are GMT -5.
