taiwan scammer am i covered
 

I sold a 299 item to Taiwan, shipped with priority mail with shipcover insurance added. buyer claims 10 days later item not received. he never contacted me once though, just opens a claim right away. few days later tracking shows delivered, instead of doing the right thing and closing case he now escalates it to customer support to make a final decision. my question is that since there is no signature on it how will ebay decide? also this buyer has 0 feedback. and if ebay does side w the scammer will shipcover reimburse me? I cant try and open a case until mid august...

If tracking shows as delivered you should win a item not received case aslong as you sent it to the paypal address.

Sometimes ebay can close it in the buyers favour, you would then need to appeal and get an actual person to review it.

If he filed for INR, you are fine. Tracking is all you need.

Go back to all your listings and change who can purchase items.

Dont be generous to anyone.


Keep everything tight. Consider not shipping overseas

IIRC, Paypal/eBay recently raised the maximum amount that's covered by seller protection for transactions without delivery signature to around ~$750. If they're abiding this, then you should be safe.

The only Asian countries I would ship to is Japan and maybe Korea. 90% of the sales made to other Asian countries are scams from my experiance. You may consider blocking international sales to Asia in the future.

I also think EB will be aware that the buyer with 0 FB had this pre-meditated. Surely, they see this quite often.

Is this a stealth account or real account?

They may see it.

It does not always mean they will do anything about it.

Their perception may be new buyer so let's have him around to spend more money.

I think new 0 feedback accounts are likely to scam higher end.products, iphones etc

But in my experience, its the higher feedback members, the ones who know how to play the system, that scam.

Ebay don't judge people on their feedback as we all started at 0 at some point.
