MC999 suspension for me and my friend?!?
 

We are both on seperate computers but our first item was both the same thing, he lives in mexico and i live in the usa. Is it possible they linked us just by this one item ? We both hit mc999

No, it would not link unless you guy used the same picture, item description, ......

Most of new account will be hit with MC999 when listing 1st item and you need to call in with in 48 hours.

Read the email sent to your inbox, if it says you need to call in within 48 hours or 78 hrs than you will just need to call in and they will ask some simple questions about ur business and reinstate your account

This is very common with new accounts when you start listing right away,and with all the recent changes they are really pushing these

@OP, did you list right away? Were your paypals all verified? How did you setup the accounts? I doubt that the listing is what killed the accounts...too many other questions remain

ok sorry guys for leaving you without the question answered. I appreciate the help so far.


First of all, we did not share pictures. We were on seperate Ips. and the Ban that we got says this

There was also a second one sent saying something similar.

So I think this is different thant he verify account ban.



The item was an electonic. We listed it the same day as opening the accounts.


MY paypal was NOT verified. HIS was.

we BOTH got this SAME email

The only thing we have ever shared was some files via google drive. but they were NOT ebay related at all

Something else to add, we both had Florida as the shipping state. But not the same city

My Paypal was not verified his was. I set up the account with stealth info, My friend did info in the USA (Real info from his sisters address.) The account was set up like this


1: create buyer account

2: Create paypal

3: Link paypal

4: List random low cost item with no brand-used on the account.


At first there was no error, it was only after I made my second listing- The same as his first listing on my account. Then we both got suspension emails. To me this SCREAMS link...I just don't know how lol. Thanks guys :ranger:

Electronic items as first listing...could be considered risky and reason for ending the account

I think you should've created the Paypal account first and get it verified. Also, if I remember , the first couple items you list will almost guarantee a call from security. If you do not pick up that call it is straight to suspension. Also, why would you list the same thing as your friend especially if you started the account the SAME day.

Here is the Linking logic I see-
1)Account set same day
2)Same Item listed
3)Same Shipping state
4)Security Phone Call from EBay? Does EBay have your phone number? Did you answer?

I think you are right. I see two missed calls from ebay that i missed and did not even see ring -_-.


So is that the only issue? Everything else was fine... Maybe we both missed the security call?

I think you both just got shut down for listing a risky item on a new account. And it coincidentally happened to both of you around the same time. Ebay has been trigger happy with the mc999 the past couple weeks.

Definitely what happened. Thats courteous of them to call you twice. Call them back and verify and see if they will reinstate. Tell them you was at work and you cant get calls.

Getting Mc999's on new accounts now. Called up Ebay, very simple questions and accounts reinstated.

I notice that around this time every year, ebay get more strict with new accounts. Most likely due to the incoming holiday sale season and people make tons of account to sale. For the last two years, I avoid making new accounts around these time and never have to call in due to mc999 on any of my new accounts.

I think my latest couple of mc999 have come from trying to sell too quick. Nevertheless like I said the phone calls was a breeze, confirm address, they ask you what you are planning to sell, name, that's about it. They sound half asleep in call centre and are not trying to be Miss Marple

Good obvservation. They start the purge each year like this.

This is the time where I rotate the accounts that have been 'resting'.

I think with these new metrics in place, they probably lost many sellers due to falling below standard

I bet that with the loss of many accounts and with the 4th quarter approaching in only 2 months , the accounts that do make it will see some nice limit raises

It always seems like eBay is divided into 10 different companies , like GreenBean often says the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing

And I think the genius who implemented this new system and basically decided to clean house didn't coordinate with every other department

And soon they will realize that with the Holliday season quickly approaching and all of a sudden they will be asking what happened to all our listings?

And of course it will be so late they will start giving some crazy limits out to the accounts that are still around and do there best to get all those listings they axed back somehow so that they can make money in the busiest quarter for the retail industry, and keep all the share holders happy

I been taking a different approach and been making a lot of accounts every day and if u know the system you can make some nice accounts

As was said before, because it was a new account and you listed items they called you for security reasons. Because you didn't pick up the phone they suspended your accounts. Lessons learned.. When you list for the first time on a fresh account make sure you keep your registered phone handy to verify your account.

If you guys have used some VPS services then mostly it can be banned if it is in the blacklist of Ebay or someone else have already used the IP address . I had the same problem with couple of my ebay accounts or you may have listed some vero items.

Indeed Lessons learned! Thank you so much guys the forum helps my stealth abilities grow ALL the time! Amazon seems easier to set up than ebay to me though LOL.

Can you guys give any tips on how to set up paypal?

Just buy a VCC and use a bank account with a nick name, or Bank of america bank account with a stealth name to verify the paypal account?

Step 1) Open PP account with fresh new Email address. Add Stealth name and stealth physical address.
Step 2) Get a prepaid visa card (look thru forums for a good one).
Step 3) Go to card website and verify zip code online with same stealth info you used to open PP
Step 4) Get a fresh bank account with REAL name. Do not attempt to FRAUD the bank. Get a bank that allows different name xfers. I've been using Wells Fargo for years.
Step 5) Add Visa Card and Bank account to PP

Then you're done!! Good luck.

Do not add phone# and SS#. That is not required at this point. If you do it right you will never have to add this info.

Okay thanks bro! As far as a Visa card, I heard vanilla visa doesn't work for Paypal Is that true? Which card is a good one for PAypal? I have looked through the forums for awhile and I usually just see people recommend a VCC

The vanilla visa card works. You have to get visa ones that require online verification.
