ebay dropship scam help
 

Hi everyone, I hope it's ok to post this question in this forum but there's lots of brainy folks here so I thought I would give it a shot. I assume this is some kind of scam but I'm trying to figure out how it can be. Have any of you heard of it? so here it is. I get an unsolicited email from someone named Linda, she says, lets have a partnership, you the seller list items and we will start with 3 test items, digital cameras. so you list each for $100, when someone buys, then I am suposed to send Linda the buyers shipping address, then Linda ships the camer and gives me the tracking number, AFTER the camera is delivered, then I send Linda her 80% and I keep 20%. What do you all think, it's a scam right? but how can it be if I don't send this person any money untill after the item is delivered to the customer?

If this question isn't appropriate for this forum please don't yell at me, I was just trying to find the most knowledgeable Ebay sellers to answer it.

Seriously, don't sell anything that you have not verified yourself. If she is so willing to send before you pay her, why doesn't she just send it to you to begin with? LOL

EDIT: I thought a little more about it, what if she just buys it herself, sends herself the camera, then does a chargeback or complaint with paypal? Your out double what you started with.

OR, because I have such a suspicious nature, maybe the OP wants to see if he/she might run a scam themselves?:rolleyes:

no, the OP isnt trying to do a scam, I know this has to be a scam someone is trying to pull on me, I was just trying to figure out how it could work if I'm not suposed to send the money untill after the item is delivered. Caseyjr86, I hadn't thought of that, maybe that is how it works, she will buy it herself, claim it was never delivered, then I have to refund the money to the buyer and still owe her for the camera, or something like that, No I'm not gullible enough to fall for it, just wondering how it works. gotta admit it's a little more sophisticated than the ethiopian scam that some dumb@$$ tried to pull on me, lol

I just had an idea, I will list it, then quickly have my relative in another state buy it, then tell the scammer it was sold and see if she ships it. I'll bet it never gets shipped!

new update on this. I never listed the item. I'm not that dumb. but I emailed this person and said that I listed and sold the item. She said for me to give her the shipping address and she would ship it asap. I have her my po box. We'll see if it ever arrives...

Ah this is a scam of sorts what is happening this person linda is buying stuff on the internet with a stolen credit card but its too obvious and on top to be sending items to one address with a stolen credit card so the way she gets around it is by you listing stuff for sale she doesnt actually have then when the person buys it off you linda goes online and buys it from a shop with a stolen credit card and then sends it to your buyer then she gets the money off you.
