Default Ebay case and buyer asked by ebay to return the item

Buyer filed a case and wanted a refund. Ebay reviewed the case and said buyer needed to return the item for a refund. Buyer added a return tracking number aug 15th but the tracking number is still not good. What happens next or what can I do now?

Wait it out.

If the tracking doesnt update then they lose the case I believe.

Id wait for others to give their words.

you should call ebay and talk to someone in the resolutions dept. They should be able to help you out. If its ⊗⊗⊗⊗ tracking, then normally they resolve in your favor. If it real, just taking awhile to update then have to wait. Sometimes, they give buyer a chance to upload correct tracking. All depends on the rep you get.

I am assuming you tried to check the tracking on the actual carrier website not just resolution center website? They sometimes don't update on ebay.

Check USPS.com to see if anything shows there.

If it doesn't show, contact EBay to try and close the case based on the fact you never received the item yet to issue the refund.

Label created a week ago and calling ebay is not something I do normally unless my ebay account is on fire and my extinguisher is empty!

I cannot find any written ebay policy about this but the money has been on hold forever.

It is ups and I checked it but I really need to know how long does he have to actually return the item?

Are the funds holding in your PP account?? I doubt it.. Just wait it out case eventually closes by itself if buyer doesn't take action.

Yes funds are held, wait it out for how long? Is there an ebay policy about this?

I do not know about the EB policy part. But his tracking is gonna have to show delivered or it was not delivered. When the time runs out then your money should be freed up. You should not have to call them about this.

how much time? it has been 8 days already and tracking is still not good

Talked to ebay resolutions. Buyer on a case has 10 days to enter a working valid tracking number showing item is in transit and an additional 10 days for item to arrive. For international an additional 10 daysof transit time.

Yeah, you really have no choice than to just wait it out then.
Do NOT escalate anything.

If it doesnt show up, you will be good to go and the funds will be released.

No, you don't have to.

Just wait it out. It'll expire. eBay has a bot that sees is the tracking works and if the item is returned to you. Normally if it says delivered, they'll notify you to refund right away.
But they never give the buyer a specific time that the item has to be sent back...

If they do, they don't really reinforce it.

In situations like this, the case will be closed in your favor and your funds will automatically be returned to you.

Ok if that is the case than when will I receive the release exactly. I do not want to give this guy the opportunity to still ship it monday
