help shall i refund?
 

ok so i had an auction open and one user pm me about that item i told him its not for sale but if you like to buy another item buy it from my site.

so he bought it from my site and i send him the item ( it wasnt a product it was a code so i send it to him. but the code didnt work for him i think he just dosent know how to use it. the code is working tested and working) now he wants refund? or he will report me on ebay and paypal.

but transaction was outside ebay but we have some conversation on ebay message system.

so will he be able to report me or do anything aginst me.

the code is working as i said but he just want a full refund.

What payment method did he pay with through your site? PayPal?

As the sale wasn't directly connected with eBay I highly doubt they would get involved. Your worry would just be him opening a dispute through PP (if he paid via this method) which the buyer would inevitably win as you cannot provide tracking

I would refund him. If he complains to eBay and they see your message, you run the risk of losing your account. It is a BIG no-no on eBay to try to circumvent eBay fees.

account has 1 feedback so does not matter if i loose it. but it has a hold payment thats the problem

Look, it's not a matter of 1 feedback or not, every account should be taken care of well.

Otherwise it's just use and abuse all over.

About the refund, there really is no choice but to just refund him and if you keep selling digital products, you should probably get used to refunding people like this person more often than not, since that's the risk you will be taking

Pay him to keep him from opening a case.... This is just a risk we sellers have to take...

If you go to the payment transaction on paypal you will be able to refund him even if the payment is on hold.

It costs money to create each account. Not to mention your time. And bank accounts in the UK, from what I have seen posted, are not exactly a dime a dozen.

Given these facts, I would try to not burn the account. It is more valuable to you than the payment.

In the future, I would never try to circumvent eBay fees. Especially not using their messaging system! That will only result in lost accounts.

It is better to do your best to keep accounts going to make your efforts in creation worthwhile.
