I need to start selling on eBay

I've been a buyer on eBay for 2 years, have acquired about 40 positive feedback...I've been banned from eBay and Paypal years ago...a couple times I tried selling and they caught me immediately. I'd like to start selling again...my Paypal account has been open for about a year, I've received payments for items outside of eBay (maybe 5 or so) and have used it at least 50 times to send payment...the problem is, I have a feeling once I start selling they will hold my payment for 21 days or whatever it is. I don't like this because the last time I sold (years ago) some of the items I sold and sent I never got paid for because Paypal held the money, etc.
The question is - how can I go about selling safely now and will this money get held no matter what if sold through eBay? I don't want my eBay account get screwed up. Thanks.

Well, all new sellers are subject to the 21 day holds. You have to build some trust with them before they will take them off.

You CAN get your funds earlier if the buyer leaves positive feedback and also under some other circumstances. But there is no way to completely bypass the holds that I am aware of.

okay so the 21 days is a given...will i be okay to sell beyond that without setting off any red flags?

Sell beyond what? I don't understand the question.

Every new seller account has some kind of limits. But they can increase quickly if you run your online business professionally. Always ship the same day or the next day, input tracking numbers and be polite to customers.

As far as the 200 items / $20,000 in gross receipts that triggers the IRS reporting requirement, PayPal will ask for your tax-ID when their algorithm decides that you are likely to go over that amount. They do not wait for you to have 190 sales or $19,000 in gross receipts. It can be triggered when you have received as little as $5,000 - depending on how fast you received it. If you do not want to go over the threshold, I would recommend spacing your sales and having no more than $1,300 per month on the account. It will STILL eventually trigger the reporting requirement, but it will happen less quickly.

Of course not.

paypal first and ALWAYS protects itself against issues with accounts.

At the least, you can hope to operate well, give great customer service & hope not to be flagged by paypal.

If you are selling high risk items, have poor service, then paypal will end its dealings with you.

You need to understand that it is better to make a working relationship with paypal.

Shortcuts do not work.

Good Luck.

Hi! For the 21day-hold i think paypal only does that if you don't put the tracking number on ebay, because when i started selling on ebay before they banned my account, paypal never hold my received payments for 21 days, i always receive them 3 days after the items delivered. I always use usps first class, sometimes items arrive to the buyers in 2days, so my minimum waiting time is 5 days and max is 8days. :)
