It was down even on a website. Something is going on today for sure. But they'll tell us it's tech problems etc.

ebay has been off and on the last 24 hours. even totally thru me off the mobile app.

now some accounts work others get user not found.

best thing to do is sit tight and wait the storm out. nothing drastic is going to happen and its not worth going crazy when you could just walk away for awhile

In a breaking story, it appears that e-commerce giant Ebay has been subject to a massive hacking and that enormous reams of data has been stolen and/or deleted.

On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, an unconfirmed number of ebay members logged in to see their entire accounts deleted from the site. In addition, any auctions from those accounts have also vanished into thin air.

In response, Ebay has completely shut down its Customer Service operations, closing down public access to its phone banks and almost completely ignoring the situation.

After several hours, a terse message was posted to Ebay’s “announcement” board that read:

We are aware that some users may experience problems when using the eBay Site. We are actively working on restoring the issue and apologize for any inconvenience caused. (September 03, 2014 | 10:53AM PST/PT). As of 4PM EST (1PM PST), no further updates from Ebay have been recorded, and all customer service personelle have no answers to any questions.

You gotta love eBay! What a great example of customer service! If any of US SELLERS did that, we would lose our accounts!

"Ebay is currently experiencing some general technical difficulties which are causing our users to encounter a variety of listing related issues.

Actually now I logged in taking into mind this account had a limit of 100 items or $5000 now when i get into the account i get this!

Seems ok now and a few updates. Now I have Auto-Respond on my ebay mail...

Oh and my address is finally correct when paying my fees.

Same here, cant reply to messages,, on some accounts, cant login on others, Cant print orders on others. Its a mess!

I guess someone didn't agree with that defect rate. Who was it???? Come on show yourself! :laugh::pound:

I think it's because of them screwing people over so many times. It's like people riot when the government does something wrong to it's people. I believe it's just that.

Traffic has dropped by almost 20 million this year on ebay alone. Signs of customers going some other place. Someone sent me a chart on here today.

Customers doesn't go elsewhere, just the big "G." dropped the coming traffic to all eB country-sites because of G's Penalty. The reasons for that:

We have police that should be protecting us against crimes and murders and we have firemen that should be protecting us against fires.

Unfortunately, the way things work on my planet it's that they can only act once something happened. They are not fortune tellers. Internet service providers can only act against attacks after they are happened. This isn't the year 2591 where we can arrest people before it even happens, you know?

And no, it's not the end of the internet, but it's probably the right time to start wearing that tin foil hat.

That has literally changed overnight for me in the UK, it wasn't like that yesterday, so I guess that was part of their update... :ranger:

Exactly, that sums up what eBay has done and the results are showing now!

Funnily enough my partners work are doing the same (listening to their accountant) and all it has done is cut output, make the staff angry and unhappy as they have been messed about with overtime, whilst being told that they need to be more productive with less support and less time... sound like eBay? Yes, I thought so too.

Well great news i was able to recover all of my accounts but it wasn't easy! Took some work and the info was changed like i thought.....Good old ebay i tell ya :thumb:

Lost more money on ebay yesterday. Had 3 auctions end......not a single bid on any of them yesterday, there were anywhere between 3-8 bids on each the days prior. All 3 closed for less than half of what the items previously sold for.

I LOVE ebay.

that really sucks and I kept thinking about that as I was watching auctions yesterday. major bummer. I try to list friday or sunday night tho for good auctions as that is the busy traffic times

I'd check my accounts 1 by 1 but the thing is if anything changed I'm sure I'd get an email about a change in address or something. I don't really feel like checking 4 dozen accounts 1 by 1. I guess I could.

Me too. None of my info changed, but prices were lower than usual. At least I know that I'm not the only one.

I had two of my 10 listing deleted...just gone. Can't relist...says item removed...they were not mc'ed for once either bahahaha! Just gone...it may be tough for bigger sellers to realize whats missing. I will have to recount inventory and relist...what a pain!!
