A little help here please :)
 

Hi Everyone,

I got a message from eBay saying my account was linked to another eBay user.

After being on the phone with them (and being treated like a criminal), I hang up and started going through my account and noticed my old cel-number was still there.

This was a company phone, so I was able to figure out that, the new person in the company I used to work for has this number now, and is the person to which eBay is linking me to.

eBay wants that company's HR department to provide them with documents proving this, which is never gonna happen, HR doesn't care about this...

Is there another way to fix this?

You can fight, argue, and plead as much as you can to eBay but they will also care very little.

Once they link accounts, it is very difficult to sway their minds.

Do you have other accounts up and running that you can rely on?


BTW, I find it difficult to believe your account was solely linked through the phone number. Phone numbers change hands frequently, so there must be other pieces of info that eBay used to associate to the other account.

Are you sure there are no other account details that are similar to the other account? Were you logging into eBay when at work and thus sharing the same IP as the other account?

Yeah, I'm guessing at one point I logged in from the office (just like this new guy now), and I shipped from that office at one point, and I'm guessing he also listed the office.

Regarding accounts, no, this is my only one. I'm affraid that if I open a new one, once I link my paypal account, they will link this new one too.

I guess I can't sell on ebay anymore, unless I open even a new bank account :/

Right, your best bet is to go with an eBay Stealth account. Otherwise I don't see you getting around your suspension/limitations.

No you can't link your current PayPal to a new eBay account. You will get linked and suspended again.

When one account is toast.. They are both toast.

Not to sound harsh, but you're not going thru anything that thousands of us haven't gone thru as well......Just start over with a stealth account or two. It's not a big deal once you read up and put your toe in the water once or twice....

Sadly, you have missed something important.

Your paypal from the old suspended ebay can never go near ebay again. :eek:

You need to make a new paypal to match your new ebay.


I can not stronlgy enough recommend you take aspkin's suggestion & get ebay stealth.

In my experience even if you were to get the docs they probably won't reinstate you. Aspkin gave you the solution. Good luck.
