Paying ebay fees the right way in the UK
 

Hi
I was wondering what methods people in the UK use to pay ebay fees the most safe way.
I read the original thread HWGA but wanted to know what people do more specifically in the UK. What cards work best etc

I just use the funds in PayPal to pay them.

If there are not enough funds in PayPal I will make part payment with Entropay and part payment with PayPal

oh right, reading that thread i thought there is some kind of risk associated with paying with paypal?

Yes, it gives paypal access to your bank account.

Entropay will work or 3V vouchers.

Only if you have not got the funds in PayPal to cover the fees. If that happens PP will try to use the DD to pay anything not covered by the PP balance.

Simplest way to prevent that happening is to remove the bank as a funding source and only allow PP to draw on the VCC for funding, so if it does come to that PP will just draw on the VCC to cover any shortfall.

I just use the one off payment button on EB to pay the fees 2/3 days before they are due. Prevents any issues from occurring

Yes, you can just use Entropay if you want. Nothing wrong with that.

So as long as my paypal has the funds to pay the fees it is ok? and when paying fees I should avoid the automatic payment and do the one off payment option, thanks, just wanted to make sure I dont make any mistakes when paying fees

You can let EB use the automated payment if you want, but I prefer to just use the one off payment button myself a few days before eBay would automatically take the payment. Stops any potential accidents happening.

Yes, this is an option that works really well for me.

The one thing I do not allow is paypal to access my bank account more than needed.

I have said it before on this forum, and I will say it again.

I control my money NOT paypal.
