Thoughts about selling legit software on eBay?
 

I browsed around the forums and couldn't find the exact answer I was looking for, so here is my question. I'm wanting to sell Microsoft software on my eBay account. It is a fresh but I'm going to build the seller and buyer feedback until I get about 20 plus seller feedback or even 30-35. I can provide my SSN, send my information to eBay and PayPal, EIN, and my Microsoft Authorized Reseller information if they need it. This will not be some digital product I'm selling, it's authentic and a genuine Microsoft product. It comes with a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) with every product, and media disk as well as a product key needed for activation. This will all be shipped to the buyer. Will this be safe? Give me opinions/feedback please!

That decision will be with M.soft.

If they don't like you or don't want you selling their product online, they just tap EB's shoulder and you are gone.

Feedback won't matter, account age won't matter, reseller authorization won't matter. This is simply a category where EB bows down to the rights owners' every request.

OP, you have a difficult choice here.

I would not risk the new account with such an item.

ebay is known to be less than receptive to these listings EVEN with all the paperwork available.

This then creates the next part of a potential problem for you.

Why would you want to risk ALL your valued info on your account?

SSN, EIN info are to be nutured and treasured.

Please consider looking for something else to sell .

It sounds like you're pretty prepared for this, but unfortunately you're dealing with a high risk category so I also say tread with caution. Definitely don't give up your SSN on this account. If you really want to give it a try, go for it, but do keep in mind that the account can go down at any time due to what you're selling.

Too risky, honestly.

I would set up my own site for stuff like that or find a safer platform.

Even if you go to amazon, you have the chances of hassles too.

How you can provide a SSN then on an account like that if they request it?

Also it is a big risk again as have been already told. If M$ are upon you, they'll destroy you and that business model. Like #3 already said - no documents matters for both eB and PP.

Stay away from M$, Adobe, Autodesk and such companies products. You can still try other ones tho, less risky.

In your OP you said you were going to supply EIN & SSN.

Regardless such info should never ever willingingly be given up to either paypal or ebay just to sell a product from MS.

Go for it just don't be surprised if it gets taken down. Theres no telling with EB thats a high risk Vero item.
