| | | Laritha | 09-18-2014 11:43 PM | Competitor makes drastic selling change A competitor is selling the same exact items as I am. He has a few 100 more feedback than I do, and a longer history selling on eBay.
What's strange is, he's only been selling the same product as me for 1 month. Before that, he was selling TOTALLY DIFFERENT items. I mean, TOTALLY different.
Almost as if his account was hacked and somebody started selling on it 1 month ago.
I've seen other competitors make this sudden shift in product too. Anyone have a possible explanation for this?
* I also noticed that before 1 month ago, he hasn't sold any items in almost 4 months. Now he's posting new items daily. |
Re: Competitor makes drastic selling change You seem really into this competitor, your competitor probably has been looking for new items.....found yours, and now selling it as well. |
| pokerpro | 09-19-2014 01:21 AM | Re: Competitor makes drastic selling change Seriously?? There are about a zillion reasons that could happen......my first choice though is that he just found or just found a deal or that item and saw he could make some money off it. Remember, everyone that sells something all have this in common....there was a day they didn't sell product A, then there was a 1st day they ever sold product A.
I know I'm looking for something new to sell and make $$, every single day, maybe they are too?
Or, they could have a hidden camera in your house and discovered your secret! lol. |

I don't analyze other people's activities - spend more time on my own :FF: |

You love prying on others to see what they are doing.

Are you simply observing or feeling threatened?

:violin: | Never mind what other people are doing! What about what Alibaba has been doing! Who would have thought there was so much prestige and power and ultimately pounds and dollars and yen, in ⊗⊗⊗⊗! Floating on the stock exchange now with more business than ebay and amazon ! |

| oompaloompa | 09-19-2014 04:48 AM | Re: Competitor makes drastic selling change If I see a product I like, I look at the other items they sell and they are often from same supplier and I google and get the supplier and then start doing sums on their site. Although sometimes they are ordering all over the place and seperately...Ive gotten loads of ideas from ebay, I am trawling daily and it can take over your life hehe as one thing leads to another and another, most eg. 90% are rejected....
when I need something for myself, I often research the cheapest price, and that has led to many supplier discoveries....
this guy probably would have come across the product, not you personally.....
I am getting this cr ap off az all the time, people acting like they own sole rights to products, because they do not want competition...... |
| Laritha | 09-19-2014 06:21 PM | Re: Competitor makes drastic selling change Thanks for the advice. Today I seen ANOTHER competitor selling the same item, but hasn't sold anything on eBay for almost a year.
All of a sudden I see 6 listings for the same item, and 1 item for something totally different and low priced. (a antique gold coin)
Maybe I'm just looking too deep into this. I don't know. |
| Foreveryoung789 | 09-19-2014 07:23 PM | Re: Competitor makes drastic selling change I have learnt some new things reading this first post and comments. Laritha really has competitors. It's hard to prevent it. Sometimes it's opportunity to improve your own selling. |

They received payments through escrow as well who at the time were a big black hole for losing money in apparently, and people did lose money on a regular basis, clearly Alibaba were going nowhere fast with that past history, so now the history is wiped and in cleaning themselves up they seem to have cleaned up escrow as well as have seen people mentioning them on here | | All times are GMT -5.
