The same thing happened at this time last year. I believe it is to do with getting the "listing numbers" at the right level for the Christmas shopping season.

Put it like this, if the volume of listings are less than last year, how can ebay expect to make more money?

We have read many stories of people having selling limits reduced due to the new defect system. Ebay are not cutting the number of listings on their site. They are just redistributing them.

Do a half decent job (or better) at the moment and they are handing out limit increases like confetti.

I have two accounts running from around the same time, selling similar items.

1st account, doing better than 2nd in sales, feedback etc, only goes up once a month, 2nd account with lower sales, lower feedback went up four times in a month.

Maybe its the eBay curse - 'fill your garage with more stock cause we are bumping your limits, but tomorrow we will take your accounts away and then you will be screwed mwahaha! '

I had 3 personal accounts that went like this -
10>30>60>120 (2 accounts)
10>50>100>150>230

And like you said, 1 account top rated, went 10>30 and that's it.
Old as the other accounts.

Thanks for that @kiroshi - I was also once manually linked when I called in to ask for increases (this was a long time before I even got hands on stealth and was one of those genuine accounts). What bugged me was, if you knew my previous account was suspended why not automatically suspend this and send an MC999 my way? - but no, they decided to wait for me to call...

That is why everyone here advises not to ring in for increases.

It means a manual review of your account. And nothing good ever comes of that. Better to stay under the radar and take increases as they come.

Need increases? Also consider making more accounts and spreading sales

Funny enough, that happened on my genuine account which means I will never call in again...as for stealth accounts I call in ALL the time and get increases ALL the time (every 30 days that is) - so long as I used at least HALF of the allowance. Put in a few sweet words and they increase it even more. Even though this has worked for me, might not work for everyone.

"What should I do?".........NOTHING!.......Stealth done properly requires patience..I have some accounts that have got to 100/5K in weeks...I have another one that is 16 months old and still at 10/1K.

Like hundreds of people have said here, hundreds of times before me...if you need more sales, create more accounts...spread your sales account....you know that old saying about all the eggs in one basket? I think they created that expression with ebay in mind....

Default I thought limit increases were reviewed monthly?

None of my accounts so far have gotten an automatic increase, but they did automatically reset back to 10 so that helped a bit. I think I just need to sell faster. I'm going to list all 10 items tonight.

I get limits raised pretty quickly (under 90 days) to 100/5K.,,..then they seem to just stick at that. 1 or 2 go higher, but most seem to plateau at 5K. I spread sales over lots of accounts, so I don't care if I ever get higher than that on any one account.

Its sensible, keeps you well under the radar. I dont intend to sell to even half these limits on this account to be fair.

Why? You may never get increases easily.

You should sell to your limits to try and spark automatic increases

In my experience with ebay now over the last couple years, and this has been all day every day, with increases, there's always a random factor involved.

I had many accounts that were less than 2'months old and received an email saying we have noticed how well you have been selling and now why wait list more and Id get an increase from 10 to 100'items

And the funny thing it would be before I even made a sale or had any feedback

So based on a large group of accounts there is no set formula of time of month, amount of sales, and feedback that equates into a increase, there's just nothing concrete like that

Also you mentioned you would never sell that many items in a month,,now also in my experience sales and amount of listings that are up give the same effect

Just the other day I had a fairly new account 6 weeks old, 3 Feedbacks at the time, now I started with 100 item limit

But I went to the dollar store purchased like 100 items, stayed up all night to list everything and when I was about finished, my limits were almost gone, now they were gone not because I sold but listed,

So I took a nap, just 3 hours later there was an email when I woke that now you can list more and my limits went from 100 to 220 on a 6 week new account with not much activity or feedback, until I listed everything that one night and received a limit increase

So u can get raises for so many factors at any time during the month, and like I said listing an item seems to have the same effect of pushing your accounts to the limits

And there is a good post by GhostWhoWalks about the dollar store , if u have one near you it can be a great tool in prepping accounts and allowing them to grow, find out what sells which is very easy and you don't need to buy the whole store, I take pictures sometimes of the racks , just so I know they have 400 of a certain flashlight that sells or cheese grater , etccc

So when you list, you can list 30 items even if u purchased say 6, just keep,an eye on the store and how fast the item sells so u can go by more

The point being you can list certain items in quantity from the dollar store without actually having everything, that is if you have several dollar stores in a small radius of you, where u can easily restock inventory, just list to your limits, and with generics you will see the raises

Good advice about listing to limits thanks.

I am in a very fortunate position with a high selling product I have, which I buy for 50p. I list 99p auctions with various versions of it and send them out with a tiny loss. People always feel they got a bargain as the other listings ( mostly on my other accounts lol) go for £3.00, so give me good feedback. I have been doing this until I get 25 DSRs so I get my 21 day hold removed then multi list.

The only thing I have been doing different is not listing to the max every time as I thought your listing to sales conversion rate was another factor they looked into?
