Are the crazies coming out from hibernation?

Yikes....
Past week I have gotten alot of junk questions. Does this? Will this? Is this real? What does the open box laptop look like?

:noidea::noidea:

It does seem to come along in waves.

Just one of those things!

Gets more common with the holiday season approaching, people tend to have a budget set, they blow it first day, and spend the remaining days on exchange/returns to recoup the costs.... :S

Some people are actually too stupid to buy on eb. When I get ridiculous questions and several from the same person I block them because every time I have sold to one it is problematic. It's just not worth it.

I tend to ignore messages and not answer them if the answer is black and white in the listing, and your right, buyers who ask irrelevant questions tend to be the ones who, without contacting you, open a case, leave a negative feedback, and dont respond when you ask the question, Why did you do that?

Most laptops DO have cats on them. At least when humans are trying to use them.

I cringe when I see EB member has a question. I think to myself I'll look at it and answer in about 6 hours. That way it has a chance of selling out before they can buy.

And this is with a pretty informative description. Some ppl just don't want to take the time to research in descriptions.

I the amount of stupid, self entitled, angry, rude buyers I encounter on eBay is just unbelievable. No wonder we live in such a f*cked up world.

Re: Are the crazies coming out from hibernation?

I got two buyers the last two days asking crazy questions like " does this work or is it just junk from China "

The buyer had one feedback, so he went on the block list , and than I get a message u would of got $100 but u blocked me

So stupid, new buyers are too dangerous to deal with especially with the new rating system

I had a buyer ask me if they could pay me for my item in 2 installments! now the item was an expensive item but they must of thought I was Wal-Mart or something.

People really can't tell the difference between an ebay seller and walmart....no wonder there are so many problematic buyers

Re: Are the crazies coming out from hibernation?

There is an option in Ebay to check so that buyers cant contact you unless they are in a transaction with you. That cuts out a lot of stupid questions.

Like:-

Description "this is a brand new gold tone metal widget"

Question: is this gold or silver?

Description: this is a unique antique widget dating from 1800s

Question: have you got 2 of these in blue?

I have got it checked because I sell vintage and I get so many buyers just wanting me to value or give an opinion on THEIR stuff rather than to buy mine. A few still sneak through so I just use the out of office reply to say I am "away from the computer" and leave it at that. I may be losing the odd bit of business but as all my stuff is BIN they can buy if they want to.

Re: Are the crazies coming out from hibernation?

@biglouis999 that is a good option I used once, but sometimes out the blue you do have a genuine question that requires answering and that is a potential sale you dont want to give up. I think its more to do with the price of the item your selling, let say your selling antiques which are expensive, you might want to answer questions, as oppose to brand new, sealed phones, theres nothing more to answer about them...

Re: Are the crazies coming out from hibernation?

Well, I'm glad to see that some of my most moronic bidders are also asking questions from some of you as well! Every time I say to myself " This is the all time stupidest question in my 16 years on ebay"....wham, a couple of weeks later and I'm saying the same thing......common sense seems to be on the way of extinction......

If I had tons of money, I'd hire someone just to read the questions, because I'm sure they have taken a year or two off my life......

Well as they say, you dont need intelligence to use Ebay - just an internet connection!

I feel sorry for the staff in Walmart.

BTW: I dont sell many antiques on EB - mostly the newer junk that I cant put onto Etsy or Ruby Lane!

Re: Are the crazies coming out from hibernation?

I don't mind answering questions, but the problem is everyone who seems to ask me pre-purchase questions always give me issues afterwards. I would say at least 75% of them cry about something.

Now I just block people asking questions unless it's an item I really want gone.

Re: Are the crazies coming out from hibernation?

If see state of our education system you will not be shocked on the questions. Mean when question 1 + 1 goes from 1 second answer to taking hour on new math what you expect. God help min wage workers if their computers go down they never be able to figure our change without screen telling them. When we were in school did not need to show work now you must.
