EBAY UPCOMING BUSY SEASON? What to expect?
 

Hi! I've been selling on ebay since last February and haven't really seen any huge gains like a holiday push could bring. Just curious will it boost sales on average a good amount? I know it varies on what you sell etc. etc. but I'm talking more so traffic to the site in general? I do make money on ebay don't get me wrong but just wondering what the later months might do sales wise?

Traffic to the site will increase quite a lot but... if you sell swimsuits or ice creams it is not something that people will buy much around Christmas.

Does this all start to happen around thanksgiving? (granted I'm USA) thats when our holiday rush begins. I'm kinda excited to see how it goes. Just added around 5 new stealth accounts so hoping for the best.

As others have said it depends what you sell.

Think of the gifts you typically buy others are christmas. Those are the ones that sell better.

Its a good time to diversify.

And becareful last year all the shipping companies could not handle the rise in online sales and priority mail was taking 13 days , Big mess, and with new metrics, could kill your account

I stopped selling December 12 last year , my last shipment went out on the 12th and arrived the 24th, so I got lucky and this was priority mail

With Christmas your Package needs to arrive before the Holiday , and you will get lots of Buyers concerned about this

You can lose a lot of accounts if you do not manage urself right in December, because UPS, OR USPS, keep selling postage on eBay regardless of late shipping but your accounts will be gone

Thats the type of stuff thats really helpful to know. Are you planning on stopping this December 12th too? I figured there would be delays, not that much though.

I had around 8 of my new accounts getting 0/0's now I'm not...just mc999 account restriction which is the new mc999 call in for new accounts. Have to be verified on paypal, and linked to pass.

Yes I'm definetly giving myself that 2 week cushion, because every year there has been an increase on package delivery and online Sales
And I'm not going to put my accounts in the trust that USPS or Whoever are more ready to handle this years holiday

Last year was very busy, I would sell out on my account limits in one day with accounts that were 100/5000, it was like that from December 1 on for me

But we will see this year, I have no idea how it will be, something is definetly wrong with there search and traffic , I don't get it

But Amazon has been really busy already so I'll get the sales one way or the other

I was trolling through the Official Ebay forums this Morning and from reading past posts / experiences... Im sitting the holidays OUT.

1 the new 180 day rule with ebay/paypal (this is gonna bring out all the scammers)
2 alot of DUMB customers causing Extra Problems
3 shipping is going to be a mess

seems like selling during the holidays is going to be a disaster waiting to happen smh!

the buyer... has up to 180 days to report the item as not as described. etc etc all the bs the scam buyers do to get free products.. the new 180 day rule only helps the scam buyers EVEN MORE!!!

I you think it this way.. If you had a actual store you WOULD have people who would steal from you. Every store deals with shrink. In a way thats Ebays shrink, the online version.

If they do follow through with the one day transfer it will be great but of course they needed to balance it out with this killer of opening a SND case 6 months later
