I drop ship unable to attache a tracking # Can I fudge this
 

Ok so I drop ship my product. When i sell something I email supplier and they send to customer, but it takes 4 weeks to arrive. I am very clear in my ebay listing about "please allow 4 weeks delivery time".

It is impossible for my supplier to give a tracking #. Here is my idea. When the buyer makes the purchase from me on Ebay I email them thanking them and reminding them of the 4 weeks delivery time but then I physically mail them, the same day, a small gift in the mail, say a coupon or gift card with a receipt for their original purchase and once again reminding them of 4 weeks shipping them.

My idea is that by sending them the gift I can use that as the tracking # and fool ebay. I am just afraid of getting suspended again because I dont upload tracking #'s.

I am open to any ideas as to how to get around this.

This is not a good long term solution.

Best solution would to to stop drop shipping and send the items yourself with tracking.

Change your silly plan is the best idea.

This will compromose your account quickly and badly.

Why is it impossible for you to not dropship? Does your supplier refuse to sell wholesale to you? Seems unlikely.

1.) Use a better supplier that supply tracking.
2.) Create systems that provide tracking such as shipping on your own UPS/USPS/fedex accounts and then log into say Fedex and load tracking to your selling platforms
3.) take possession of your items and ship yourself
4.) It is never impossible

You stated you are open to ideas.


To do any type of online selling, impossible is never a word.


You have to work out what to change to survive.

Your intentions to give service are fine, and I admire that.

But you are dealing with not one, not two but THREE issues.

first is an intolerant ebay. They will can you without a blink of an eye.

2nd is a misunderstanding buyer. They will report you for anything.

3rd is a flawed operating system. This is were you take power.

See what info you can take from this.

1. You live in the USA. Shipping is cheap and next to nothing with FREE tracking if you print it yourself off ebay!

2. Suppliers are cheaper in the USA then China at times. So I don't see why you can't find something else? There are a million things out there to resell. I could do the same but I'm in Canada.

3. Everyone is so lazy at a young age they all want that fantasy "drop shipping" you can't be a millionaire from this at all. This is not a long term real business solution for you.

4. When you lose an account for to many open cases of items not shipped or provide tracking then you'll learn fast to change this so called "drop shipping" into a real solution.

Drop shipping are done with these days. I pay for products and hired a friend or family member in the USA who ships for me all the time. I print my own postage upload them up to my site they download it, print it, paste it on my packages and off it goes.

I mean if I can do this from Canada and I use to do it from Europe explain why you can't? Just do it your self? If you are a handicap then you can always call USPS to come pick up packages or give a few to the mail man when they stop by.

Buy bulk. Store in your home. Sell it from the stock in your home. Simples.

Pros and cons. I think drop ship is a great idea, just have to figure out a few things.
You don't have to stock any inventories, big plus for drop shipping.
For the tracking # thing, I disagree with what you are doing now. Buyers can easily report you for that, potential troubles.
Ask your supplier to give the tracking # to you, so that you can upload to your ebay acct. Even your suppliers locate in China, they should be able to add tracking#, might cost a little bit more, but worth it.
All you need to do is: when you list the item, make sure is "shipped from outside of US". No problems ever.
That's the way to do it.

OP are your trying to have your listing say "ships from US" when in reality stuff is being shipped from neverland? Is, yes then give up on this model, it will bite you in the ass.

Yeah, lying to people is not a good business plan. 90% of people are reasonably when you f it up. Nothing will turn a reasonable buyer unreasonable more than them finding out that they've been lied to.

I thing, you selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items , that's why you can't import them to your country.Solution - Try selling legal items ;)
