does browsing history on a new acct really make a difference?

I ask because the last 20 or so accounts I have created I did not do any browsing history at all. They were aging for 1-2 months but at no point did I create browsing history on ebay. I let the account age for 1-2 months, then created and attached paypal, then listed my first item.

These accounts have been okay so far (about 1 month into using them as selling accounts). And i've listed on average 3 items on each account. So far so good. I just want to be clear on the role browsing history plays in making a good account.

As you have learned from your experience in here, and on EB, there are some modus operandi that are absolutely a no-go if you want to have a good and healthy account.

Other things are just "better if you do so" and are not a must.

I use to build a little history in my account and leave cookies where they are while I let my account marinate (this term is dedicated to Aspkin )

I do suggest to build up some browsing history... doesn't cost much and give me more confidence for a strong account.

Generally I do like to behave as if I was a brand new noobie eBay/Paypal member. They for sure will spot that.

I agree. There are things you must do, and things that you should do.

but does browsing history really give you a noobie appearance? I mean, how many people will create an ebay account solely because they have something they want to sell?

hmm i guess if i can push the boundaries and report back any successes/failure then why not, right? Just wanted to know if anybody could attest to the effectiveness of browsing history, or any consistent success not having any browsing history when starting to sell.

It just gives the account an extra layer of credability.

Most newbies would browse the site, get used to its feel and functions. They wouldnt automatically know how to use the site and how to list items.

I just do it as an extra precaution. Its so simple and quick to do theres no reason not too.

if you feel comfortable not creating any history thats ok too. My experience is I omce.created an account (pre stealth) and listed right away. I got the soft ban until I sent in docs. I prefer to avoid these issues if possible.

I like browsing...makes the account seem more "real" and "natural" - like a regular eb user

Ask yourself this: If I was ebay, would I be more suspicious of a new account that had 0 browsing and or buying, or of one that had browsing and maybe had bought or bid on a couple of things?

No brainer.

i list 10 items on day 1 and also buy 10 items, never had an issue
