Increasing selling limits
 

I've had my ebay account since around 08/09 but only as recently as this year started selling.

After 1 month of selling they automatically increased my selling limits from 100 to 150 items.

I have since been selling well near limits and great feedback and wondering if they will ever increase automatically increase again?

I read you should hit your limits to improve chances of it happening but the downside to this is I have some GTC listings going I don't want to end and would need to force them to end if I wanted to hit my limits completely.

Any advice would be great.

Unable to setup stealth accounts as of yet as I'm still trying to source an alternative address and reading up to make sure I understand how it all works before implementing it

PS. I have been selling near limits around 4-5months since they last increase

Others may correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think it matters if you have GTC cancelled listings, they still count towards how many you list and sell each month I'm sure.

I think it might also vary for everyone.

Most of my accounts have had increases every 45 days or so without hitting limits.

eg. I have one account from June (about same time as yours).

Month 1 - no sales (Started 10/$2,500)
Month 2 - 2 sales (1st increase to 100/$7,500
Month 3 - 3 sales.
Month 4 - 30 sales thus far. (Just got another increase this morning to 190/$7,500)

I have another account from around the same time that is still stuck on 10/$2,500.......

It does vary, there is also a randomness sometimes, because on many accounts I would receive an email saying we noticed how well you are selling and now list more and Id get an increase from 10/1000 to 100/10000

And also a factor that I think plays a big roll is the risk factor of your items, and whether you are an authorized seller and been verified or have just been selling.

But GTC listings are fine, just a little more than a week ago, I purchased all dollar items and listed them on one account all BIN listings and each item was not more than $5

Just a couple hours after I received a raise from 100 items to 220 items, the account is 2 months old and I listed until there was 20 items left on my limits

All unbranded cheap items

Limit increases are pretty much a roll of the dice...most (if you have no problems) get to 50 or 100/5K pretty quick, but I've found there is no crystal ball, although a few folks here claim they have figured it out......

Depending on your time to create account and your items in month, Ebay will raise your limit automatically

There is a way to keep your GTC listing going even if you put the quantities to 0 so they don't count towards your active listings and limits, it's called out of stock option in ebay, do a google search for it, it's disabled by default and they used to have a way to enable it from the site preferences but it's not there anymore. But you can change your excisting GTC listings to have that feature enable for them using FileExchange
