Did pay the fees and sold a couple of items, everything went smooth

I think if he really wanted to scam, he would of not even gave the password, or might of not even have an account,
After all not everyone can get to 12k feedback, without really taking care of an account.

It seems as almost everybody has pessimistic views, and thats great for managing risk.

But as long as you have something to cover you, i think risk should always be taken, thats where the new path starts

You never know whats at the end of the road, until you take it

So , you created a new paypal account and are using that as payment, or is this a paypal account that you have been using for a little while

I am using a business paypal account, that i created a year ago.
And i wasnt actually interested in what he was selling so i never asked about his supplier, he was selling speakers and other music related things.
Which im totally not intrested at all,
Mostly i think if your not selling personal stufff, everything in wholesale can be bought from alibaba or aliexpress

did something similar to this way way back before finding this site... but actually bought the account off eby before eby banned selling accts on their site.
Its definitely risky but so are a lot of things. Got to take it slow and easy.

Ofcourse only risk what you don't mind losing. If 1500 was ur life savings then no its not a smart move.

Change info on the acct then add matching pp. And take things slow.

Hey, I hope you got lucky. Before buying, my concern would be if they had gotten a bunch of MC999's and suspensions on the account and wanted to sell while it was still alive. But, now that you are in, you can see that in the message history. It was definitely a risky proposition.

One thing though, I found out the hard way that Paypal won't protect you on something like that. They'll only give your money back on physical goods. If you paid from your credit card or bank through Paypal ( did not use Paypal funds to purchase ), then your credit card company or bank will protect you ). I learned that from being scammed by Sandy D. I was SOL for a "service" payment to her through Paypal's protection, but my bank gave me back the money.

Yep I agree here, same situation happened with me

Hopefully when you purchased thru paypal u used a linked credit card and not your Debit card, but either way I think you will be covered

But with credit cards I find it much easier to do a charge back , no paper work just little info online and you will get your money back

So hopefully you used a credit card with paypal when purchasing and not available funds

I never had any luck with switching up paypal accounts but than again the couple times I tried this was because my paypal account was limited and not my eBay

So hopefully his paypal account is still good, and maybe that is why this may work, and If you backed urself up with the way u paid than I see it as a good risk, but if u paid cash that was in paypal and there was a issue with his account , than this could be too high risk


Just go slow, another issue is if your items are completely different than what was normally sold on this account , that could raise flags, but go slow, and good luck

Also, is there any paypal holds on funds or are you getting instant payments available right away??

Thanks for all the info guys, really appreciate it.

I did use my credit card attached to the account.

And all payments are directly coming in, this is a paypal that that had been in use over a year ago

You are being naive.

If you use paypal for anything, the account can be limited.

Avoid changing info as that flags the account as well.

I would be a lot happier if you asked before you got the account rather than after spending the money.

The good thing is you used a credit card , so if something goes bad, you will be able to get the funds back
